Responsibilities ECS is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to oversee our Special Projects Program (SPG) across the southwest region. This is a high-impact role designed for a results-driven executive with deep expertise in geotechnical engineering in the transportation, heavy civil infrastructure, and public sector. As a Regional Manager, you'll be responsible for the continued growth, direction, and performance of our SPG operations-building strong client relationships, leading multidisciplinary teams, serving as a Principal Engineer as needed, and driving profitability across key markets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide strategic leadership and oversight by leading overall direction, performance, and staff development of e Special Projects Program, ensuring alignment with regional and national business goals.
* Manage full P&L responsibility for the SPG, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance related to transportation and heavy civil infrastructure projects.
* Client Development & Project Execution: Cultivate relationships with public agencies, DOTs, and infrastructure partners. Lead client pursuits, strategic partnerships, and ensure successful project delivery from proposal through completion.
* Mentor a high-performing team of project managers and technical staff. Provide guidance on complex technical decisions, QA/QC standards, and ensure consistent excellence in deliverables.
* Collaborate across ECS subsidiaries to align on project scopes, schedules, and fee structures. Ensure internal invoicing and project tracking processes support client expectations and business goals.
* Refine and enhance internal tracking tools and systems to drive project visibility, reporting accuracy, and on-time performance across the SPG.
* Develop and lead targeted training initiatives related to specialized project requirements, ensuring staff are equipped to meet evolving client demands.
* Business Development & Market Expansion: Identify and pursue strategic growth opportunities within the region. Engage in proactive marketing and positioning activities to expand ECS's footprint in transportation and infrastructure markets.
* Client Relationship Management: Serve as a trusted advisor to key clients, ensuring satisfaction, repeat business, and alignment with long-term goals.

Qualifications
* 15+ years of experience in in geotechnical engineering, civil construction, or CMT as a professional engineer and project manager.
* Proven leadership experience at the regional or executive level in civil engineering, geotechnical and/or construction materials testing, specifically on transportation and heavy civil consulting programs
* Strong background in public sector business development and project delivery (DOT, municipal, or large civil projects)
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to manage profit centers and lead cross-functional teams across multiple geographies
* Licensed PE is required

Geotechnical Principal

ECS is hiring a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead technical excellence, mentor staff, and support complex geotechnical projects across the region. This position offers a senior leadership track with broad impact and limited day-to-day project responsibility - your focus will be final technical review, mentoring, and supporting project delivery and growth.
Responsibilities
* Provide final review and technical oversight of geotechnical reports, calculations, and project deliverables
* Support project managers and staff with geotechnical problem-solving and technical guidance
* Host and attend client meetings; provide consultative insight and maintain quality standards
* Lead business development efforts; maintain a strong client network and contribute to firm growth
* Mentor Associate Principals and support training programs
* Review and sign contracts and proposals within Signature Authority limits
* Serve on the review committee for Principal-track candidates as needed
* Assist in department planning, staffing, and profitability efforts
* Participate in company-wide technical initiatives and interdepartmental collaboration
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related field
* Active PE (Professional Engineer) or PG (Professional Geologist) license in Texas (or ability to obtain)
* Minimum 12 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience
* Must have achieved designation as Associate Principal or be eligible via Board of Directors exception
* Valid driver's license (if driving on behalf of ECS)
Preferred Qualifications
* In-depth understanding of Texas geologic and geotechnical conditions
* Established presence in the local geotechnical community
* Proficient in geotechnical software for slope stability, deep/shallow foundations
* Experience with departmental P&L, hiring, and operational oversight

Civil Project Engineer II/III - Renewable Energy

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III to join our Energy & Renewables Group located in Plano, TX. Projects in this group focus on land development for utility scale wind and solar farm projects around the country. A typical scope on a project includes road design, crane path design, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design, mass grading, erosion and sediment control design and field reconnaissance. The ideal candidate will have 2 or more years of hydrology experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
* Design portions of a project using relevant office software, modeling and AutoCAD Civil 3D technology.
* Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems.
* Prepare reports complete with all text and exhibits
* Prepare specifications materials through the use of research and manufacturing catalogs to specify materials, installation, inspection and payment of items specific to a project.
* Work to complete design details and plan sets.
* Perform research and writes objective summary reports which are used in the completion of the project work or inspection.
* Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates.
* Complete field observation, inspection and data collection duties as directed by senior engineering staff.
* Communicate with client staff and internal design team as directed by senior engineering staff.
Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
* A bachelors or master's degree in civil engineering or a closely related degree.
* Ideal candidates would have 2 or more years of hydrologic and hydraulic experience
* EIT preferred.
* CFM certification preferred
* Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D required
* Technical writing skills
* Must be legally eligible to work in the Unites States without sponsorship now and in the future.

* Using field screening equipment and documenting readings
* Reading maps, following directions, and interpreting engineering and construction plans
* Interacting and communicating daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers
* Gaining the confidence to be the sole representative of ECS on project sites

Qualifications
* Actively pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related degree
* Interest in how building materials are utilized in the construction process
* Position requires carrying 40 - 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist height
* Must be able to provide suitable transportation for use on job sites - mileage will be reimbursed

The expected pay range for this role and location is $16-$20/hour. The final agreed-upon compensation will be determined based on specific location and other individual qualifications.
