The Engineering Support Technician-3 team member works independently throughout the manufacturing plants to analyze, modify, and build machines, tools, fixtures, jigs, templates, and guards. Team member will work with other technicians, tool room personnel, engineers, department managers, and operators during the analysis and implementation phases of various projects.
Key Responsibilities
Draft and design shafts, jigs, and equipment components.
Create and update designs using 3D modeling tools (SolidWorks).
Fabricate parts using lathe, mills, welding, and metalworking techniques.
Translate designs and models into finished components and complete machines.
Modify and upgrade existing machines for improved performance.
Diagnose mechanical failures and provide engineering support solutions.
Example projects include fabricating mounts for sensors on conveyor belts.
Qualifications
Education: Associate's degree in Engineering Design Technology, Drafting, or CAD.
Experience:Proficiency in CNC machining, welding, and metal fabrication.
Strong skills in 3D modeling (SolidWorks).
Hands-on experience with mills, lathes, and general machine shop tools.
Ability to take a design from concept through fabrication and assembly.

Shadow Quality Control (QC) tech at the plant
Learn to perform physical test on concrete in the lab
Get familiar with entering pre/post pour in Concrete Vision (CV), an internal production database
Check forms during pre-pour
Start to get familiar with mix designs, finishes, NCR s, and metrics
Work proficiently with mix designs and finishes
Pour samples
Enter and use NCR/metrics to work on root cause and continuous improvement
Conduct site visits when problems arise and determine root cause, then report to operations and help develop new processes, and procedures
Work to develop new metrics to help with lowering NCR where needed
In another portion, you ll have the opportunity to work in our Field Services division.
Shadow a senior field supervisor and assist in the layout process
Read/interpret blue prints and communicate the work plan to crew
Use survey equipment to ensure product is properly aligned vertically and horizontally
Coordinate with dispatch daily for load times and sequence
Supervise the installation process on job sites
Troubleshoot problems that arise and help resolve them
Write weekly progress reports
Assist field operation managers with conducting early job site visits to coordinate start date, crane and truck access and project concerns with clients
Source necessary construction equipment and materials to complete the project
Coordinate shipping schedules, appropriate equipment and crew size needed for the project
Coordinate daily job duties
Coordinate mobilization to the next site efficiently and effectively
Follow the bracing procedures and job specific plan on every project
Support the laborers and operators at the project to complete tasks
Another component of the Wells EDP consists of hands-on experience in engineering design. You ll spend your months working in tandem with Wells Design Engineers to design precast concrete products for a variety of projects, gaining valuable skills.
Work with Wells Design Engineers to design precast concrete products for a variety of projects including FLEXURAL DESIGN (Hollowcore, Double Tees, and Beams), and wall panel design including load capacity and the wall panel handling.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Pursuing a Bachelor s Degree in Engineering is required
Possession of a valid driver s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Day to day Tasks & Integration
Assist with environmental monitoring activities, including water, soil, and air sampling
Support geological investigations such as mapping, surveying, and resource evaluation
Participate in reclamation and land restoration projects
Work alongside operations, safety, and environmental teams to understand how compliance and geology integrate into mining operations
Learning & Professional Exposure
