Review oversize and overweight loads to ensure existing bridges are capable of withstanding the loads. Use excel and other computer programs to process large amounts of bridge data including, vlookups, queries and developing reports on closed and load restricted bridges for management. Assist with updating bridge standards and policies.
Office of Engineering Support: Obtains general exposure to design manuals and policies related to geotechnical, hydrology, roadway, and structural design. Perform site visits to evaluate project locations.
Office of Alternative Delivery: Assists with some of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in South Carolina, gaining hands-on experience with the design-build project delivery method. Collaborates with and supports subject matter experts in Preconstruction and Construction Project Management, Roadway, Structures, Hydraulics, and Geotechnical design disciplines.
