SOL Engineering Services, LLC is searching for an Engineering Technician III with a strong background as a heavy equipment operator and experience with instrumentation systems to conduct surveys. Requirements Must be a U.S. citizen Able to pass a background investigation (financial and criminal) Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance Must be certified to operate heavy equipment such as a: backhoe, dozer, track hoe, excavator, forklift, graders, and front loaders Valid driver's license Apply basic analytical skills, scientific methods, or operational processes to perform tasks Experience with instrumentation systems and the ability to conduct detailed surveys Examine site conditions and conduct soil analyses Document results via photographs, physical survey, and/or in a field book Obtain measurements of soil cross sections and input into electronic format Ability to emplace, spread, and compact soil Perform fine grading and retrograde the area Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Excellent verbal and written communication May require professional presentation skills Adhere to all safety and health objectives, policies and procedures Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed Work will be performed outside Travel required Qualifications Associate degree in a related technical field Two years related experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree Minimum of three years operating heavy equipment Crane operator license and/or experience is preferred We offer a competitive salary, health benefits and paid vacation.
