As an Associate Engineer you will be trained in Energy Transfer Company's Safety, Operation and Maintenance procedures related to plant and pipeline facilities. The incumbent will provide engineering expertise to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of natural gas pipelines, measurement stations, and compressor stations based in Pittsburgh, PA. The duties would include: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Provide engineering design and project management for assigned projects in accordance with Company specifications, industry standards and Federal regulations. * Prepare project cost estimates, scopes of work, and scheduling. * Provide direction and monitor Company and third-party engineering and CAD design personnel. * Prepare material requisitions and specifications for the purchase of material for construction projects. * Perform technical review of vendor material quotations, engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications and procedures. * Review preliminary drawings for neatness, completeness, and accuracy, and approve the drawings for bid and construction. * Prepare weekly reports on project activity, track project cost and schedule and reports results to Management. * Review as-built drawings for compliance with Company specifications, Industry standards, and Federal regulations. * Assist Field Operations and team personnel with engineering problems, code interpretation and questions. * Develop Construction Bid packages and write contracts for winning bidder. * Provides financial oversight and revises projects to reflect changes in cost forecast exceeding approved tolerances. * Coordinates with Specialists, Operations (Team, Managers, and Directors), Gas Control, Integrity, Planning, Marketing, and customers to reduce or eliminate any outages to customers. * Maintain a working knowledge of applicable Federal Regulations, Company Engineering Standards and Standard Operating Procedures and other pipeline industry standards and specifications. * Provide technical support for right of way permitting and acquisition including the preparation and approval of road and railroad crossing permit drawings and the preparation approval of property plats used to acquire the necessary right of way and temporary construction workspace for assigned projects. * Analyzes outside design drawings for encroachments to Company Facilities. Works to eliminate conflicts and provides initial scope for required relocations of Company facilities. Required Skills Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below: * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering. This is an entry level position and requires 0-3 years of relevant job-related experience. * Associate Engineer shall be trained by Company in the following industry regulations and guidelines 49 CFR 192, ASME B31.8, API, and AGA. Industry experience in engineering, design and operation of natural gas transmission systems is a plus. * Associate Engineer shall be trained by Company in vendor sizing and selection programs for control valves, regulators, and relief valves, pipeline flow calculations, road crossing stress calculations, area of reinforcement calculations, and other engineering related programs. * Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and MS Projects. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent analytical and organizational skills * Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Overview & Responsibilities This is a support role to assist Ebara Elliott Energy (EEE) professionals in our U.S. global headquarters location in Jeannette, PA. Students will receive “hands-on" experience in the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) department in the rotating equipment industry. At EEE, we design, build, refurbish and re-engineer products used by some of the largest companies in the world. EEE manufactures steam turbines, centrifugal and axial compressors, cryogenic pumps and expanders, power recovery expanders and gas expanders for use in energy markets worldwide. All internships will consist of the following elements: Individual projects to own and complete for real world hands-on experience; Team project and activities designed to demonstrate cooperation; Exposure to the day-to-day responsibilities of EEE leadership including participation in company and customer meetings and job shadowing. The Summer EHS Intern will lead the following projects: Assist with major global EHS initiatives including communications and the electronic incident management system.
