MPC will provide training and educational opportunities to help you develop your knowledge of other engineering disciplines. We are committed to developing engineers into professional project managers who can successfully manage projects of all sizes.
Reliability Engineers support the refinery's Maintenance Department through design and development of equipment related improvements. Such improvements include root cause failure analysis, optimization of maintenance programs in rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, etc.), and troubleshooting fixed equipment (refinery pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping systems, etc.). Reliability Engineers will also be continuously challenged to find new technology in design, materials and repair methods to achieve refinery goals of longer running times at lower costs.

About the Position
Scientific Technical Services (STS) provides technical support to faculty, staff, and students for a wide variety of teaching and scholarship activities involving instrumentation, and the design, manufacture, and repair of equipment to all divisions at WWU. Under general direction, this position will perform senior-level engineering technician work designing, developing, modifying, constructing, installing, calibrating, testing, and repairing instruments, apparatus, and equipment within a scientific, instructional, or engineering application. Applicable skills for this position include mechanical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, cabinetry, carpentry, welding, machining, and sheet metal. The focus of this position will be to support the operations of the STS Machine Shop.
This position is part of a Public School Employees of WWU bargaining union.
Required Qualifications
One year of experience as an Engineering Technician 2 OR two years of experience as an engineering technician OR equivalent education/experience.
Strong education and/or experience with CNC machining.
Experience with CAD and CAM programing.
Ability to use typical machine shop equipment such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, welding and soldering equipment, and common hand and power tools.
Ability to work independently under general supervision.
Strong record of effective teamwork and collaboration.
Ability to work with diverse groups and individuals.
Strong problem-solving and trouble shooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Under general direction, this position will perform senior-level engineering technician work designing, developing, modifying, constructing, installing, calibrating, testing, and repairing instruments, apparatus, and equipment within a scientific, instructional, or engineering application. Applicable skills for this position include mechanical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, cabinetry, carpentry, welding, machining, and sheet metal. The focus of this position will be to support the operations of the STS Machine Shop.
This position is part of a Public School Employees of WWU bargaining union.
Required Qualifications
* One year of experience as an Engineering Technician 2 OR two years of experience as an engineering technician OR equivalent education/experience.
* Strong education and/or experience with CNC machining.
* Experience with CAD and CAM programing.
* Ability to use typical machine shop equipment such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, welding and soldering equipment, and common hand and power tools.
* Ability to work independently under general supervision.
* Strong record of effective teamwork and collaboration.
* Ability to work with diverse groups and individuals.
* Strong problem-solving and trouble shooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
* Demonstrated ability to design and/or repair electronic, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

The primary purpose of this position is to support the Transmission/Distribution Engineering department by providing mapping, drafting, engineering project accounting, maintaining hazardous waste management test records, and inputting and reconciliation of work orders as required to facilitate accomplishment of the District's mission and goals.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Prepare pre-designed work orders, construction drawings, and staking sheets consistent with District construction standards and FERC accounting system with complete instructions for construction and subsequent record updating.
* Perform as-built field measurements of underground electric, water and sewer or septic plant for drawing preparation and the development of District maps.
* Prepare drawings, plans, construction plans for various facilities, and maintain as-builts, electric, water, sewer or septic plan files, dispatch room one-lines, and other schematic drawings in conjunction with as-built preparation and detail map updating.
* Maintain record of and manage distribution of new and revised specifications to all manual holders.
* Maintain vehicle related tools and Engineering material stock.
* Draft and provide temporary signage for such purposes as outage notification.
* Maintain electrical equipment nameplate, location, and material sampling and test result records required for Hazardous Waste Management records and reporting program.
* Create and update system one-line drawings and manuals. Monitor drawing and manual updating procedures for distribution to all manual holders.
