**Responsibilities**
+ Work with a vibrant and diverse team to build, estimate, and schedule civil, grading, utilities, roadway, and structural construction.
+ Support both administrative and construction activities as assigned by supervisor; review proposals, specifications and drawings, perform material takeoffs, prepare cost estimates and attend pre-bid investigation meetings.
+ Learn to supervise subcontractors and communicate with vendors.
+ Prepare work plans, assure quality control, manage and track costs and materials, schedule equipment, administer safety programs and maintain exceptional owner relations.
+ Maintaining records as required regarding job progress, costs, material usage, etc.
+ Planning and scheduling of job and/or job segments
+ Investigating problems and/or reported incidents; identifying and recommending solutions/alternatives as appropriate
+ Reviewing plans and specifications to determine material requirements (quantities and qualities), pricing of materials, etc.
+ Working with suppliers as required facilitating the handling and expediting delivery of material

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Environmental Intern to support our Environmental Consulting Services team in the Greater Atlanta area. This internship will provide hands-on experience in Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) processes, ecological field studies, and erosion control inspections. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in environmental science and a desire to learn about environmental compliance regulations and practices.
Intern Program participants include Luster (Employer of the Interns), HNTB (Prime consulting firm Luster works with), and Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) (Client of HNTB). The internship will focus on the GDOT Major Mobility Investment Program (MMIP).
Key Responsibilities
Assist in conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, including data collection, site visits (transportation with the Luster Intern Mentor), and report preparation.
Support the preparation of NEPA documentation and analysis, including environmental impact assessments and public involvement processes.
Participate in ecological assessments, including habitat evaluations and species identification, wetland delineation, and stream classification.
Conduct erosion control inspections and assist in providing recommendations for erosion control measures.
Research environmental regulations and best practices to support compliance initiatives.
Collaborate with team members on various projects and contribute to presentations and reports.
