Job Purpose
The Soil and Crop Modeling (SCM) team is at the forefront of developing advanced simulation technologies that support CNH Industrial's global product development efforts. By using cutting-edge computational tools such as Discrete-Element Method (DEM), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Multi-Body Dynamics (MBD), and System Modeling (SYSM), the team models complex interactions between soil, crops, and machinery to accelerate innovation and improve product performance.
As a Soil and Crop Modeling Engineering Intern, you will play a hands-on role in simulating and validating agricultural equipment while developing physics-based models for virtual crops and fields. This work will directly contribute to improving soil and crop modeling accuracy and advancing CNH's product development capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities may include:
* Supporting the development of physics models for virtual crop and soil interactions
* Performing laboratory characterization tests to measure crop physical and mechanical properties (stems, seeds, leaves)
* Processing measurement data and conducting DEM calibration simulations to improve model accuracy
* Validating models by comparing predictions with industrial-scale rig test results
* Assisting in the simulation of soil, crop, and machinery interactions using DEM, CFD, MBD, and SYSM tools
* Preparing a final report and presentation summarizing model development, validation results, and recommendations for use by crop flow modeling and design engineers
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates may be pursuing an Associates, Technical, Bachelor's, or Post-graduate degree in the following majors or a related field: Agricultural Engineering, Biosystem Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering
Pay Transparency
The annual salary for this role is USD $19.00 - $31.00 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

The Energy Transfer Integrity Engineering group manages the regulatory required pipeline integrity program, which includes the inspection and repairs of pipelines and facilities in the Eastern US. The Energy Transfer Terminal Engineering group supports the Terminal Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Project Management groups at the Northeast Terminal facilities (natural gas liquids processing & refined products storage). Terminal operations include dehydration, fractionation, chilling, refrigerated storage, atmospheric storage, underground storage caverns, marine operations, and pipeline operations.
The Energy Transfer Butane Blending Engineering group is responsible for the design, construction, and integration of automated processing equipment for Butane Blending systems at fuel loading terminals. Energy Transfer's patented Butane Blending System uses state of the art technology to automatically sample gasoline and analyze its properties, and determines the optimum amount of butane that can be injected, while keeping the gasoline within regulatory limits.
Minimum Requirements
* Undergraduate student in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering preferred (Petroleum Engineering acceptable).
* The candidate is required to have good analytical skills, perform calculations and diagnose problems, have good communication skills to facilitate cooperation between different functional groups, be able to identify multiple alternatives and/or recommendations for a given problem, as well as facilitate the implementation of solutions. Typical Duties
Students will support a crew, project or plant team in the planning, scheduling and execution of a heavy civil construction project. Typical duties are as follows:
Coordinating subcontractors
Project Schedule Management
Project plans exposure
Preparing work plans
Contract Management
Daily reporting
Ordering materials
Change orders
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency (GED) required
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mining & Materials Engineering, Business Management, or another engineering related degree
Must be a team player and possess a collaborative attitude
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Strong analytical and communication skills
Willingness to learn and adapt to change
