II-VI Infrared is seeking to hire Top University Graduates to support business growth in Saxonburg, PA. Our Graduate Rotational Training Program provides new grads with unique opportunities to explore various technical fields in a global optics company. Our Saxonburg campus offers 3 different engineering graduate rotational programs that focus on (i) Material Growth (ii) Optics Fabrication & Test (iii) Engineering Design, Automation & New Product Development.

The Material Growth track offers rotations in Thin Film Coatings, CVD Growth of ZnS & ZnSe Products, CVD Growth of Diamond, and Growth of Ceramic YAG. Appropriate degrees for this rotation include Chemical Engineering, Material Science, and Physics.

The Optical Fabrication & Test track offers rotations in Optical Fabrication, Precision Diamond Turning, Diamond Polish and Optical Testing. Appropriate degrees for this rotation include Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, and Optics.

Education & Experience

Working Conditions


Work environment can range from office to manufacturing floor. Clean-room laboratory with high-voltage power supplies and laser radiation Work involving small to large equipment. Exposure to low level radioactive materials and other hazardous chemicals. Extended time in front of computer screen.


Physical Requirements


At times, this job could require standing for most of the workday while working on the shop floor, learning processes and completing process development and improvement tasks. At times, lifting items weighing up to 20lbs may be necessary. Time may be split between sitting at a desk working at a computer and moving throughout the plant, working with II-VI personnel and working on projects.


Safety Requirements


All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and II-VI Corporate EHS standards.
