Our Anchorage, AK laboratory is looking for a Project Manager I to join their team! A Project Manager I is a key member of the Client Services Team, serving as a client advocate and laboratory liaison. The Project Manager I is expected to build strong working relationships with our clients and technical staff. This role is responsible for guiding successful, on-time completion of the clients' project beginning with the first contact (i.e request for quote, bottle kits, etc.), through the lab (i.e. analytical details, status, etc.), to the final deliverables and invoicing. The Project Manager I will work within a functional group of Project Manager Assistants and other Project Managers. This role is responsible for managing a dedicated portfolio of clients with lower complexities and/or annual analytical spend. The Project Manager I is expected to become familiar with project complexities and develop a working knowledge of the ongoing project work within their functional working group to offer assistance to the Client Services team. The Project Manager I will also be responsible for training and delegating tasks to Project Manager Assistants. Job Functions Acts a the main point of contact/client services representative for a dedicated list of clients with lower complexities and/or annual analytical spend. Aids the client with all aspects of project setup, including the initial quote, supply order, sample receipt, data reporting, and invoicing. Fosters collaborative relationships with the client, laboratory operations, and sales team to support long term, successful relationships between all parties. Staff meetings and client meetings are critical to relay information about past, current, and upcoming projects. Acts as the client liaison to the laboratory to ensure all aspects of the project are carried out in the best interest of the client and laboratory operations to meet TAT deadline Responsible for keeping all accounts project managed and up to date and accurate. Monitors project status and provides regular updates through proactive communication to the client, lab operations, and sales team related to project status. Effective and efficient communication is key between all areas of the laboratory and the client and is the responsibility of the Project Manager. Understands all applicable aspects of the client project, including rationale for the project, regulations that affect the project, and the different methods employed by the client and laboratory to produce results. A knowledge of environmental regulations is helpful, including: NPDES. SW-846. Documents and executes client requests including bottle orders, tracking samples, LIMS login, change orders, etc. Reviews project data and invoicing for accuracy and completeness before sending final reports to the client. Participates in offsite and/or virtual client meetings as coordinated with the Sales team Promotes a positive working atmosphere and represent SGS in a positive manner inside and outside of the laboratory. Performs other duties as assigned to ensure that SGS can fulfill its mission of quality, service, and growth. Your Opportunity Stantec's environmental services, wetland (aquatic resources) group is seeking a senior Environmental Scientist/Ecologist to lead environmental field surveys, reporting, and permitting support for our clients in the renewable energy, aggregate, mining, mineral exploration, community development and transportation sectors. The selected candidate will lead and direct a team of environmental professionals on environmental investigations including aquatic resource delineations, vegetation monitoring on mitigation and restoration sites, and jurisdictional determinations on waters of the United States in Alaska and the western United States. The selected candidate will apply their interest in Alaskan ecology to help train our staff on CWA permitting: wetlands, aquatic resources, vegetation, soils, streams, fish, birds, bats, wildlife, and endangered species. Experience with all of these specialties is not required; a candidate should show extensive experience in aquatic resource delineations with an understanding of the CWA Section 404 and 401 permits. T This position will include opportunities for both field and office work. During the Alaskan winter it is primarily office based report writing mixed with GIS mapping tasks. During the summer it is a mixture of field and office work. Summer field work may involve potential helicopter, boat, ATV or vehicle travel up to two weeks at a time away from home. Field work is completed in teams with the senior environmental scientist serving as the technical lead. Logistics will be scheduled in advance to systematically progress required tasks. The position is a full-time, 12-month non-seasonal position, with regularly scheduled office hours in Anchorage, Fairbanks or Wasilla. Remote hybrid work will be considered. The selected candidate will apply their interest in Alaskan ecology to help train our staff on CWA permitting: wetlands, aquatic resources, vegetation, soils, streams, fish, birds, bats, wildlife, and endangered species. Experience with all of these specialties is not required; a candidate should show extensive experience in aquatic resource delineations with an understanding of the CWA Section 404 and 401 permits. T This position will include opportunities for both field and office work. During the Alaskan winter it is primarily office based report writing mixed with GIS mapping tasks. During the summer it is a mixture of field and office work. Summer field work may involve potential helicopter, boat, ATV or vehicle travel up to two weeks at a time away from home. Field work is completed in teams with the senior environmental scientist serving as the technical lead. Logistics will be scheduled in advance to systematically progress required tasks. The position is a full-time, 12-month non-seasonal position, with regularly scheduled office hours in Anchorage, Fairbanks or Wasilla. Remote hybrid work will be considered. The Sample Login Technician receives samples, prepares bottle kits for clients, delivers samples to the labs, disposes of expired samples, and works in shipping and receiving. The Sample Login Technician is responsible for following all health and safety procedures and promoting a safe working environment throughout the department and the laboratory. This position will be heavily involved with answering calls from clients and helping with other administrative responsibilities around the lab. Job Functions: * Receives/unpacks sample coolers and containers and documents the receipt in an efficient and timely manner * Verifies and records sample receipt temperatures * Performs preservation checks on aqueous samples within various containers (i.e. 250ml, 500ml, 1000ml, etc.), not applicable to solvents, liquids, or malodorous samples * Creates jobs, enters bottle records, and generates bottle labels using LIMS in accordance with chain of custody (COC) * Applies sample labels to sample containers * Transfers samples between sample reception, cold or ambient storage areas, and laboratory departments * Ships sample coolers and packages * Prepares client bottle kits * Maintains all required documentation with accuracy and clarity * Removes historical samples from completed jobs and assigns samples for disposal; disposes of expired samples * Communicates sample information to Client Services team and lab operations to ensure timely * Adheres to lab and sample management SOPs to ensure that proper sampling handling procedures are followed * Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external clients * Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications We would strongly encourage you to apply if you possess the following qualifications: * You have a high school diploma or GED.
