Our Central Region Environmental businesses in Plainwell, MI is looking for a Senior Environmental Engineer, Geologist, or Scientist to join their team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the future of our Contamination Assessment & Remediation service line through the coordination and implementation of a wide range of environmental solutions and projects.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
Preparation of technical correspondence, project proposals, reports, work plans, and project specifications

What you will bring to the Team
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related field
10+ years of experience in environmental consulting including environmental remediation and site assessments, report writing, data management & interpretation, project coordination, and managing clients
Project experience with CERCLA is beneficial
Experience in coordinating and simultaneously managing multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail in a consulting environment is required
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both within a team and independently
Ability work in a fast-paced environment
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification a plus

A DAY IN THE LIFE
The Field Scientist will perform in-field FTIR-based testing of a variety of emission sources while directly interacting with clientele. The Field Scientist must be a detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to work both independently and in a team atmosphere.

Lead environmental audits, inspections, and risk assessments; manage corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Coordinate and submit all required environmental reports (e.g., Tier II, TRI, biennial hazardous waste, emissions inventories).
Conduct waste determinations and support proper waste labeling, handling, and storage in accordance with RCRA requirements.
Oversee the facility's environmental recordkeeping systems, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on environmental compliance experience in a high-volume manufacturing setting.
In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations (EPA, RCRA, CAA, CWA, etc.).
Experience managing hazardous waste programs, air and water permits, and environmental reporting.
Strong technical writing and organizational skills; capable of producing high-quality documentation for audits and agency communications.
Ability to work independently, prioritize projects, and interact with various teams and regulatory officials.

In this position you will serve as the primary point of contact in environmental matters for an assigned territory of Asset Teams. Responsible for compliance with Federal, State and Local environmental regulations, implementing company environmental and training programs, adherence to company environmental policies and supporting district Asset Teams.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions include:
Direct and assist the Asset Teams in the implementation of environmental training requirements within assigned territory throughout the district.
Assist Asset Teams in performing required environmental audits and inspections of pipeline and terminal facilities.
Communicate and reinforce environmental compliance with Asset Teams.
Capable of leading a root cause analysis (RCA) for major incident/event such as for product releases and other incidents as required. Develop and implement corrective actions to ensure continued compliance.

A Day in the Life
Environmental Services is front line infection prevention responsible for performing services in accordance with established organizational policies and procedures for providing a safe environment, achieved by demonstrating the principles of cleaning, disinfection and quality assurance toward the reduction of harmful pathogens for the benefit of patients, visitors, and staff.
Standing and walking much of the day. Requires bending, stretching, climbing ladders, lifting, pulling and pushing. Hands in solutions frequently.
Must follow all department, hospital and regulatory agency guidelines. Wear PPE (personal protective equipment) as required and have complete knowledge and understanding of Universal Precautions and Blood Borne Pathogen standards.
Handle soiled linen, hazardous waste, clean windows, washes walls, doors, furniture, beds, equipment, sinks, toilets, etc., in patient rooms, treatment areas, offices, and public areas.
Vacuum carpets, dust and damp mop floors, clean windows, washes walls, doors, wipe plastic and vinyl furniture. Vacuum cloth furniture, wash beds, equipment, showers, sinks, and toilets inside and out. Empty trash, high dust, clean restrooms daily, and dust complete room upon dismissal. High dust offices and public areas as scheduled.
Hang and/or take down drapes, cubicle curtains, and shades, as required.
Terminal clean - preparing patient procedure rooms for new admissions by using approved disinfectants and cleaning furnishings, floors, equipment and restrooms. Washing beds and putting on clean linen. Complete discharge sheet as required. Move furniture and equipment to clean under.
Remove trash/recycling/Confidential (HIPPIA) information and soiled linen from floors using utility cart. Replace sharps container in patient rooms, procedure rooms, and soiled utility rooms.
