Job Description Momentum Environmental provides specialized environmental, industrial, and waste management services to several leading industries in the northeast. The Project Manager works closely with Momentum's field teams and customers to ensure all projects are performed safely, on time, within budget and to the greatest degree of quality possible. The Project Manager is responsible for the Health and Safety, scope, schedule and budget of individual projects or waste processing services. The Project Manager often serves as a liaison between the field teams and various departments, including Sales, Health and Safety and Management, to ensure projects are delivered according to plan. The Project Manager reports to the VP of Operations. Essential Responsibilities • Serves as a subject matter expert on environmental projects and serves as a resource for the field teams performing waste management, industrial cleaning, emergency response and remediation projects. • Maintains responsibility for the scope, schedule and budget of assigned projects and works with operational colleagues to ensure field teams are properly equipped with labor, equipment, materials and subcontractors. • Is an active participant in the company's health and safety program. • Maintains routine contact with the customer of assigned projects and continually updates on changing conditions. • Supports the sales team by providing proposal development and participating in get work activity. • Performs estimating and proposal writing for select projects. • Implements and monitors pricing controls. • Performs routine financial analysis of assigned projects • Tracks the performance of assigned projects on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. • Works closely with other departments and other locations improve H&S, logistics and quality elements of projects. • Identifies potential problems and implements solutions in cooperation with other leaders • Coordinates and reports daily to operations management. Core Competencies • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Geology. About the role Reporting to the Facility Manager, and supported by the Regional Environmental Manager, the Environmental Specialist is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and implementing and maintaining environmental management systems and programs at the Reworld Niagara I Thermomechanical Treatment facility (aka waste-to-energy). Essential responsibilities include: Review and interpret continuous emissions monitoring system (CEMS) data regularly to ensure valid, quality-controlled data is recorded. Collect samples for in-house analysis or third-party analytical services as required by environmental permits including stormwater and ash Preparation and filing of reports required by environmental permits. Preparation and filing of permit renewal and modification applications. Liaison with environmental regulators for audits and inspections. Perform facility inspections at least weekly to ensure permit compliance and good housekeeping. Coordinate with contractors and consultants to complete permit required activities. Maintain compliance with Reworld internal environmental standards. Review waste profiles to ensure permit compliance. Proactively work with facility management and operators to resolve and prevent environmental issues. Closely monitor the production and maintenance activities and assist in planning and executing scheduled outage work to ensure the facility maintains the highest environmental standards. Complete root cause analyses for noncompliance and track corrective actions through completion. Auditing of downstream facilities such as metal recyclers and landfills Develop and complete environmental improvement projects. Provide environmental training and technical assistance to facility employees to ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations and company environmental policy. Track new and changing environmental regulations that could impact facility. Attend regular in-person and virtual meetings including daily morning meetings, monthly safety meetings and staff meetings. Participate in community outreach activities in the Niagara Falls area in coordination with corporate and regional staff. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science or similar and a minimum of 5 years' experience in the environmental field; preferably solid waste. A working knowledge of New York State and federal solid waste environmental regulations is a must. Experience with NY State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) and Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) regulations a plus. Demonstrated experience developing permit applications and negotiating permit conditions for new permits and/or modification of permits. Must have strong written and oral communications skills and demonstrate ability to work independently and creatively within the regulatory framework. Must be comfortable conveying company environmental and sustainability messaging to various stakeholders. Strong computer, technical, and writing skills are required. The annual salary for this position is between $86,000-106,000 . This is a good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position. Role description: The Environment Business Line of Arcadis is currently searching for a Technical Intern / Environmental Engineering Intern to join our team in Syracuse, NY for Summer 2026. Role accountabilities: This is a great opportunity for exposure to a wide variety of environmental remediation and restoration projects within the consulting environment, with a focus on remediation projects and environmental compliance. This position requires a broad educational background with an emphasis on science and engineering principals and fundamentals. What you will do: * Successful intern can expect to get involved in systems design, hydraulic evaluation, developing design reports, construction documents and specifications, as well as construction oversight. * May work on multiple, unique assignments simultaneously and candidates should possess strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills. * Field and office support of site investigations including soil, water, and vapor sample collection in all weather conditions * Assist project teams supporting remediation system operation * Office work may include task coordination, data compilation and interpretation, quality assurance/quality control reviews, cost estimates, health & safety plan preparation, report writing, regulatory file review, proposal support, project strategy development, scheduling and cost estimate preparation. * Assist with design calculations for the selection of treatment technologies and process design drawings for groundwater, industrial, water, and wastewater * Assisting with air emissions characterization and quantification, air permitting, and compliance The ideal candidate is highly organized and detail-oriented and will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong Microsoft Office skills are also required and additional skills in AutoCAD, GIS, and programming are preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with a long-term interest in working in our Syracuse, NY office. Momentum Environmental provides industrial cleaning, waste management, emergency response and remediation services in the northeastern US and services a repeat blue chip customer base. The technician provides a variety of hands-on services at customer locations as part of an onsite team. The Environmental Technician (Technician) works as part of environmental field teams at customer or Momentum locations. While an entry level position, the Technician is afforded immediate opportunities to expand their skill sets and grow into higher level positions. The Oswego Area Technician reports to the Supervisor and is responsible for a wide variety of technical, safety and operational responsibilities in support of the safe and profitable execution of environmental, industrial, remediation and waste services. Essential Responsibilities • Plays an active role in the Company's Health and Safety system including safety planning, toolbox safety talks, near miss reporting and hazard communication. • Performs technical and manual labor tasks supporting a wide variety of industrial cleaning, emergency response, waste management and remediation services. • Participates in emergency response engagements by being a part of on call service rotations. • Works directly with Supervisors and Project Managers to execute service engagements safely, on time and within budget. • Operates small tools and other pneumatic and hydro driven equipment in support of cleaning or containment activities. • Communicates regularly with other operational colleagues on technical and quality control elements of service engagements as well as dynamic schedules. • Maintains an unwavering commitment to the adherence of all state, local, and federal environmental laws, and regulations. Position Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required by the position. Core Competencies • Ability to work safely and cohesively as part of a team with the desire to grow into leadership positions. • At least 1 year of industrial cleaning or environmental experience is preferred • Ability to develop an understanding of OSHA, RCRA, and DOT regulations as they relate to field services. • High emotional intelligence and ability to develop relationships/ trust with team members • Strong verbal communication skills • Ability to effectively interact with management, other departments, and vendors. • Ability to travel to most areas of upstate New York for job site support. • Able to work nights and weekends when needed. Personal Protective Equipment When working at a customer site or in a field environment, as appropriate, the ability to wear any of the following personal protective equipment (PPE) required: • Steel toe boots • Eye protection • Hearing protection • Gloves/ Hand protection • Fire resistant uniform • Head Protection • Respiratory Protection • Others as required by OSHA, Internal EH&S, and customer/ site EH&S Work Environment While performing essential duties of this position an individual regularly works in a variety of environments, and is required to see, talk, hear, reach with hands, stand, walk, drive frequently, use a computer keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other office equipment. Essential duties require bending, squatting, and twisting frequently. The employee will frequently be exposed to dirt, dust, and fumes. Noise levels of the typical work environment is moderate but may vary depending on customer site visits. The employee will occasionally be required to lift/move up to 75 lbs.
