Overview

Responsibilities
* Assist with site background information reviews, data assembly and evaluation, and preparation of investigation work plans and cost estimates.
* Assist with scheduling and coordination of field work and field personnel.
* Assist with procurement and scheduling of subcontractors and vendors such as laboratories, drillers, surveyors, etc. Manage subcontractors and vendors with minimal supervision from senior personnel.
* Implement field activities including soil, groundwater, sediment, surface water, air, and soil vapor sampling programs.
* Oversee soil boring advancement, soil vapor probe installation, test pit excavation and monitoring well installation and development.
* Assist with implementation of aquifer and pilot testing programs.
* Oversee remedial actions and conduct routine operation and maintenance activities at various project sites.
* Use various equipment, meters, instruments, mobile devices and forms to collect, log and manage field data and test results.
* Data tabulation and analysis, including preparation of figures, charts and field forms.
* Prepare draft sections of technical reports based on the results of background information review, field activities, field data and test results, etc.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
IDEAL CANDIDATES will have an intimate understanding of oil and gas field operations (experience working in an O&G facility would be a definite asset) and have experience in performing hydrocarbon fugitive emission and /or leak detection projects. Our US offices are located in Denver, CO, Houston, TX and Pittsburgh, PA; however, this opportunity is a 100% field position and will require extensive travel throughout the USA. This position will focus on our clients in the USA (EPA Subpart VV, VVa, KKK, OOOO, OOOOa, and W compliance) but may also require occasional travel to work on projects in Canada or other international locations. The FE Technician will report to the FE Team Lead. • Oversee all environmental regulatory programs for the plants, including but not limited to: air, stormwater, wastewater, boilers, water usage, energy usage, waste hauler permits, hazardous materials, hazardous waste disposal and tracking, universal waste disposal and tracking, spill prevention, control, and countermeasures (SPCC), recycling, sustainability reporting, greenhouse gas tracking, and Tier II / Form R reporting.
• Maintain a compliance calendar, and issue regular reports on the status of all environmental programs and permits.
• Identify opportunities to (1) optimize energy and water usage and (2) minimize waste, in accordance with Hood sustainability priorities and targets, and manage all aspects of tracking and special projects to that end.
• Update, maintain, and implement the provisions of the plant's Integrated Contingency Plan.
• Work with and become a representative on the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) for site location county.
• Give direction and training to all affected employees with regard to all environmental programs and permits.
• Work with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies to ensure that all environmental aspects, impacts, programs and permits are accepted and understood to be compliant.
• Other projects and duties in support of the EHS department, as needed.
Education and Experience:
• A BA/BS degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline, plus 3 to 5 years of related experience is preferred.

Traveling to locations on your assigned route, you will be responsible for packing, transporting and properly disposing of waste material in accordance with our environmentally responsible policies and procedures. 4 overnights required per week (with paid hotel expenses and a nightly per diem).
To qualify, you must have a high school diploma or GED and possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License. By law, you must be at least 21 years of age. Hazmat endorsement for transporting waste.
Preferred qualifications are a TWIC Card and any experience driving box trucks. As you will interact with customers and internal staff. Fluency in English (verbal and written) will be important.
The successful candidate will be required to pass a DOT physical, drug test and DEA background check.
