JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for developing comprehensive estimates, material and labor cost estimates, preparing detailed customer quotes, and managing commercial job orders from start to finish. The position requires strong communication, organizational, and data management skills to ensure efficient scheduling, accurate documentation, and timely project completion.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Review and analyze digital blueprints, project plans, and specifications to identify cost components and prepare accurate estimates.
Create and maintain both digital and physical job folders for all commercial job orders.
Organize, process, and file all necessary job-related documentation.
Communicate with customers via phone and email to provide project updates, request information, and address inquiries.
Collaborate with internal departments to coordinate job requirements, scheduling, and workflow.
Maintain accuracy and organization of job records, documentation, and project data.
Perform data entry and job tracking utilizing multiple internal systems.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Prior experience with estimating, digital blueprints, or related roles is preferred.
· Strong computer literacy and data management skills required.
· Prior clerical, administrative, or order-processing experience highly desired.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and internal teams.

This position is paid hourly rate with overtime paid at time-and-a-half . As a Civil Estimator, you will be responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings, ensuring that we know everything required to successfully bid and win the project. Follow-up with subcontractors to ensure that bids are received, and work with the Project Management teams to follow-up on bids and budgets to close the business. Critical for success are the abilities to produce highly accurate work in a timely manner, maintain strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Communication skills, both oral and written, are a must. A strong understanding and being comfortable working with numbers has been a key success to this role.

As a **Senior** **Estimator** at WDF Inc., reporting to the **Chief Estimator** you will have the opportunity to:
+ Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and manhour figures
+ Provide and/or coordinate full estimating services on large, complex work and all types of contracts
+ Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
+ Provide complete conceptual (or bidwork) and final estimating input on complex projects
+ Provide technical support to personnel preparing discipline estimates for assigned bids
+ Insure all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate figures
+ Assist contracting department during preparation of inquiries and final evaluation of submitted bids as required
+ Track awarded contracts as required - may include estimating/pricing extra work items, change orders, credit; procuring materials, etc.
+ Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
**REQUIREMENTS:**
+ Bachelor degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar from an accredited institution
+ 5+ years of relevant estimating and project management experience
+ 10 or more years experience estimating for building projects
+ Previous estimating experience on projects over $100M in value
+ Hands on experience in public projects, including buildings, infrastructure, and/or commercial construction projects
+ Experience working with HCSS Heavy Bid, Blue Beam, MS Excel, SmartBid
+ Thorough knowledge of company procedures, estimating techniques, all engineering disciplines, cost control systems and accounts required
+ Good communication skills to effectively solicit and work with individual project owner's representatives, material suppliers and subcontractors in pre-bid estimate preparations and post-bid negotiations
+ Capable of effectively working within a cohesive Heavy Civil estimating staff to facilitate comprehensive cost proposals and conclude efforts during joint venture team reviews on major projects when applicable
