    Part-time Description PART-TIME FIRE INSPECTOR The City of Springdale is accepting applications for our part-time Fire Inspector position. Be at least 18 years of age Be a U.S. citizen Have earned a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent Possess a valid driver's license Be certified as an Ohio Firefighter II/EMT or Ohio Firefighter II/Paramedic Be certified as an Ohio Fire Safety Inspector Requirements Typical Tasks Conduct routine inspections of commercial and public buildings to identify fire hazards, ensure compliance with fire codes, and enforce safety regulations. Examine fire protection systems, emergency exits, sprinkler systems, and other safety features to make sure they are in proper working condition. Assess potential fire risks such as improper storage of flammable materials, blocked exits, electrical hazards, and inadequate fire suppression equipment. Enforce fire codes and regulations by educating building owners, occupants, and businesses about fire safety requirements. Mitigate code violations by utilizing all tools and resources available. Conduct and support public education programs within the local school system and/or businesses to raise awareness about fire hazards, evacuation procedures, and the proper use of fire safety equipment. Timely and accurately record inspections, violations, corrective actions, and enforcement activities in an organized manner that can be referenced easily when needed or in the event of legal proceedings. Perform related duties when needed and as assigned by the Fire Chief, the Assistant Fire Chief, and the Fire Marshal. Salary Description $20.68 - $25.39
