Responsibilities
As a Dock Worker, you will load and unload freight in a productive, safe and claims-free manner. Although DFL Dock Workers do not work inside a warehouse, you must maximize space when loading freight.
Complete pre and post trip inspections on all dock equipment
Properly document all freight control processes
Participate in Dayton Freight's training and improvement programs
Be available for irregular work schedules, alternating work shifts and/or assignments
Adhere to the operational procedures and guidelines contained in the Dayton Freight Driver/Dockworker Manual

Desired Skills and Abilities:
Basic knowledge of general warehouse layout, item identification codes, basic knowledge of warehouse procedures and familiarity with the storage areas in order to be able to place or pull paper stock, signatures and materials in accordance with standard procedures.
Basic knowledge of shrink-wrap equipment, Able to complete appropriate forms relating to stock description, quantity, unit of issue, and the labeling requirements for incoming and outgoing materials.
Basic skill in the use of shrink-wrap or strapping equipment, manual dollies, pallet jacks, carts or hand trucks and hand tools used in material handling tasks such as hammers, pliers, strapping and stretch wrapping tools and equipment, tape fasteners, metal band sheers and related equipment.
Physical Requirements
Frequent lifting, bending, and twisting
Must be able to repeatedly lift, stack, and move objects of 20 lbs
Ability to stand for prolonged periods

Plastipak in Champaign is growing & hiring. We manufacture packaging for products you use every day. Our facility is extremely clean, safe & climate-controlled. Joining us as a Forklift Operator is a great way to get started with Plastipak.
Shift: Nights 6:45pm - 7:15 am
Standard rotating schedule of 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off
Includes 2 long-weekends every month
Full time schedules are 15 working days a month
Pay: Earn $20.25 per hour
$19.25 per hour
Plus $1.00 more for night shift differential

* Pay Range: $18.80 per hour + $0.75 per hour shift differential
* This position is eligible for a bi-weekly productivity bonus in addition to base pay.
* Schedule: Monday Night-Saturday Morning 10:00 PM-6:30 AM (off day Saturday & Sunday)
What You'll Be Doing:
* Safely operate stand-up or sit-down forklifts to keep orders moving and customers happy
* Master the art of loading, unloading, picking, putting away, and consolidating pallets
* Jump in with manual case picking when directed
* Get products prepped and shipped with accuracy and care
* Conduct outbound load audits, correct labels and count discrepancies
* Keep the warehouse moving by replenishing products in the right bays
* Tackle other duties like a pro - all within your training and expertise

* 6+ months of recent forklift or warehouse experience
* Must have the physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs safely and consistently
