Material Handlers are responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient shipping, receiving, and inventory management. This individual will be performing cycle counts, handling domestic and international shipments, maintaining shipping records, and operating forklifts for loading and unloading tasks. Additionally, this role supports continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse. Conduct error investigations to improve quality in warehouse processes. Complete cycle counts to identify inventory issues. Perform a variety of domestic and international shipping and receiving tasks. Compare and verify identifying information/shipping records on incoming or outgoing shipments with bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records. SUMMARY OF CLASSIFICATION: This description summarizes the requirements of a Lift Truck Operator employee performing in the Maysteel Facility. Responsible for assisting production work in the factory setting. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Maintain safe work environment (i.e., use of personal protective equipment, proper use of lift truck, etc). Obtain Maysteel Forklift Certification and Crane Operation Certification. Start up and stop equipment. Familiarize yourself with the tools and instrumentation. Clean production area (sweep, mop, and remove debris). Load and unload items from machines, carts, and dollies. Feed or place items onto equipment for processing. Mark parts for identification. Scrap waste material from machine into proper scrap dumpster locations. Load and unload delivery trucks and make sure each incoming delivery matches the company purchase order. Take instructions from the management/supervisory staff. Conserve resources and supplies to facilitate minimum waste. Work from routings, manufacturing instruction sheets, blueprints, visual aids, or other instructions to manufacture product at required quality levels. Work closely with the materials group to monitor inventory levels. Collaborate with inventory specialists and materials group to determine when product is missing in a delivery. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma, GED, or equivalency. Previous experience operating lift trucks preferred. Strong attention to details. Entry-level - will train. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to lift, carry, push, pull, grip, and grasp up to 35 lbs.
