Hiring a seasoned yard worker to pull customer stone orders, load and unload trucks, maintain and organize yard and warehouse areas, and assist customers/sales staff. Forklift and Bobcat experience required. Description Field Support Laborer Report to: Field Support Coordinator The Field Support Laborer plays a key role in supporting Kwest Group's operations by ensuring tools and equipment are well-maintained, organized, and readily available for field teams. This hands-on role directly contributes to the safety, efficiency, and success of our projects. We're looking for someone who not only takes pride in doing quality work but brings a positive attitude, a strong sense of initiative, and a genuine drive to support the team. The ideal candidate embraces challenges, looks for ways to improve, and takes action without needing to be asked-someone who has “the want” to go above and beyond to help others succeed. Safety training by the company will be required for all team members. Out-of-town work is probable and may require travel of up to three weeks away from home at a time. Dependable attendance and punctuality are critical. Responsibilities Repair and maintain small tools and equipment to ensure safety and functionality. Maintain an accurate and organized inventory of small tools and supplies. Deliver small tools and supplies to various job sites as needed, which includes occasional overnight stays and out-of-town travel. Assist DOT personnel in coordinating truck swaps when necessary. Support truck drivers in loading and unloading equipment safely and efficiently. Assist mechanics with service tasks, parts delivery, and repair efforts as needed. Order items to fulfill requests promptly and ensure adequate stock of essential supplies. Wash and clean equipment to maintain quality appearance and operational condition. Facilitate and direct requests from team members and departments in a timely and respectful manner. Operate heavy equipment when needed in support of projects or equipment movement. Carry out additional duties as requested by supervisor. Education and Qualifications The ability to handle a variety of situations and change priorities. Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the company. Basic computer skills. Accurate record keeping. Regularly required to stand, sit, and move about the facility. Regularly required to drive and negotiate various job sites, which can include climbing on/off equipment, ladders, etc. Work under minimal supervision. Willing to travel and stay out of town as needed. Must possess ability to communicate with all field personnel including Superintendents, Crew Leads and Foremen. Health & Safety regulations and procedures including proper lifting techniques. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and organized work habits allowing unsupervised work. A commitment to the concept of "doing it right the first time." This position is based on a 45-55-hour workweek. Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required. Working Conditions & Physical Demands Travel from site to site will be required. Work environment will normally be an active construction site. Exposure to dust, noise, high heat, extreme cold, and rain should be expected. Team member must be physically able to perform repetitive motion and heavy lifting, as described below. Must be able to maintain effective audio and visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned duties. Must wear all employer-mandated personal protective equipment, including hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, safety vests, and safety-toed work boots. Other PPE may be required from time to time depending on special safety concerns. All PPE will be provided by the company at no cost to the employee, other than safety boots. Must be able to hear with or without the use of a hearing device and clearly see at least 30 feet with or without the use of corrective vision lens. Must be able to work while wearing a respirator if necessary. Alternate standing and walking on uneven terrain surfaces, such as hillsides, muddy and icy soils, and other working surfaces. Safe negotiation of all types of surface conditions will always be required. Bending, squatting, and kneeling will be required frequently during a workday. Continual lifting of up to 50 lbs. for distances of 30 feet or more. Constant pushing and pulling of certain tools and materials will be required over a day's work. The team member must be able to differentiate and / or identify colors. Must have knowledge of occupational hazards in this field and standard safety practices. Must be able to pass the 30 Hour OSHA testing and First Aid/CPR requirements before starting work. Must complete and meet requirements under the physical demands of this through a pre-employment physical examination. Essential Job Duties Full Service Essential Job Duties: Receive labels from the supervisor for parts to be pulled. Pull, and retrieve parts from vehicles in the yard. Inspect part and notify the supervisor of any damage. Stage part for delivery driver. Operate a forklift or order selector to transport parts in and about the warehouse. Sort and place parts and supplies on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence. Respond to customer counter sales immediately by receiving orders, pulling products and loading them into the customer vehicle. Verify in-stock position on product for inside sales staff. Classify all returns according to the integrity and condition of parts and prepare necessary forms for inventory adjustments. Check in defective parts and enter them into the computer system for vendor return. Sign off on all deleted tickets, explaining the reason. Load trucks according to the delivery schedule and perform a final check-off of the parts loaded. Put wheel cores in the staging area for return to remanufacturing facilities. Maintain orderliness and housekeeping of assigned work areas. Initiate and support the continual improvement of LKQ's quality improvement system. Self Service Essential Job Duties: Could operate a forklift or loader to assist in moving cars from the process to the yard. Clean out debris from cars before they go into the processing area. Pull out batteries to be tested to be resold. Bring charged batteries to the retail area. Work with the Loader Operator to properly stage or pull cars in the yard. Walk the yard and place debris in the cars being removed from the yard. Dismantle tires. Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Ensure all EPA and OSHA regulations are being met. Wear all required PPE. Comply with established company policies and procedures. Supervisory Responsibilities Not responsible for supervising employees. Minimum Requirements Education & Experience 0+ years of experience required. Full Service: 0+ years of warehouse-related experience, supplemented by on-the-job training, to learn duties, nature of work performed, procedures, work methods, to become familiar with the company's products, locations, machines and equipment, operating methods, and to attain proficiency requirements and to fully assume responsibilities of the job. Preferred Requirements High School Diploma/GED Forklift certification beneficial. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Basic computer skills. Basic messages communicated orally. May write brief messages and keep simple records. Problems encountered are simple, repetitive and generally solved by clear directions and procedures. Follows standard procedures with no decision-making involved. Uses guidance/guidelines provided by supervisor/manager. Assignments/priorities provided by supervisor/manager.
