**Required Qualifications of the Financial Counselor Lead**
- 4+ years of recent medical financial counseling experience required
- Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred

**Responsibilities of the Financial Counselor Lead**
- Conduct training and quality assurance with financial counselors to ensure that they understand all aspects of their job duties and are performing them consistently and at the standard level set by the organization
- Ensure that staff are oriented to the job expectations to fully carry out all responsibilities
- Maintain a positive working relationship with patients, guarantors, insurance companies, government entities, clinical personnel, co-workers, and management to promote teamwork, cooperation, and a positive public image
- Act as back up coverage for staff shortages due to PTO, open positions, and times of high volume
- Participate in unit and hospital education programs to maintain skill and competency levels
- Provide input regarding staff performance to the supervisor for annual performance reviews and corrective action
- Resolve problems with internal and external clients and involve other supervisors and department leadership as necessary
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of the Federal Marketplace, Medicare, Managed Care, AHCCCS, and other third-party payer rules, authorization and billing requirements
- Act as primary financial contact for all international patients seeking healthcare services

Utilize industry best practices to maintain appropriate level of LAN/WAN and computer systems security as established. Identifies and works with IS Admins support staff to rectify any noted deficiencies.

You Will:

Verify and review patient's referring physician order prior to performing exams.

Assist in image acquisition and communication of image evaluation reports.

Communicate radiologist's report to referring physician following ACR communication guidelines.
Provide physician-prescribed post-care instructions to patients.

Write discharge summary as directed; for review and co-signature by the supervising radiologist.
Travel our outpatient imaging centers.
