Job Summary The GSE (Ground Support Equipment) Mechanic Helper supports the maintenance, operation, and servicing of various motorized and non-motorized ground support equipment. This role is hands-on, outdoor, and requires mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced airport environment. The expected pay rate is $28/hr. Your activities Operate and drive all types of ground support equipment (GSE), including both motorized and non-motorized units. Assist in performing preventive maintenance on GSE in accordance with established schedules and Fueling ATA guidelines. Support all GSE operations as required, under the direction of senior technicians or shop leads. Aid in the removal of malfunctioning equipment from service. Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records in compliance with airline, airport, federal, provincial, and municipal regulations, including ATA and SP requirements. Follow all applicable safety, environmental, and security regulations, including those set out by WCB, EPA, WHMIS, airport authorities, and SP management. Maintain a valid driver's license. Keep the GSE shop and related work areas clean, organized, and in serviceable condition, report deficiencies to management. Fuel equipment as needed, observing all safety and environmental procedures. Communicate professionally with management, customers, and staff as required. Be proactive and self-directed, reporting to the shop leads daily. Required Skills & Qualifications: Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn hydraulic and mechanical systems. Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions. Basic computer and organizational skills. Strong commitment to safety and adherence to guidelines.
