The employee is responsible for the safe and proper operation of traffic equipment and signals. Responsible for programming the following controllers: Kentron 8000 and Eagle
9000 NAZTEC. Employee is responsible for installation of streets signs throughout the city. Reports to locations where streets signs are needed and prepares materials to assemble street signs and stop signs. Reports when traffic lights are placed back in service. Will assist with stripping program, painting street curbs, crosswalks, slow bars, parking lots and center lanes.
Essential Job Functions
Operates bucket truck to ensure proper operation to traffic light system/ school zone lights and timer programming.
Reviews new subdivision for proper placement of signage and pavement markers.
Responsible for maintenance, making, installing and replacement of all traffic signs.
Responsible for obtaining quotes and ordering supplies needed for traffic signs and striping projects.
Stripe's school crossing and streets within the city- repairs and maintains the striping machines.
Responsible for directing traffic due to road closures for in-house improvements and placing proper signage to preserve public traffic routes.
Operates bucket truck when assistance is needed for trimming of trees when branches are at high reach.
Operates department equipment and vehicle such as a riding mower, lawn mower, and hand tools in the completion of a wide range of manual labor projects such as brush cutting, patching potholes, grass mowing, trimming trees, construction, and installation of fences, digging holes etc.
Uses a variety of hand tools such as shovels, weed eaters, and chainsaws to dig trenches, cut grass, clean sidewalks, cleans and removes debris from City rights-of-way and alleyways and performs public works related tasks around trees, wires, cars, and personal property and fellow workers.
Driving in adverse weather troublesome road conditions may be required.
May assist the Parks & Recreation Department with the maintenance of City parks and Cemetery, which include trimming of trees and grass mowing and assist with the setup for special events.
Maintain regular and prompt attendance, physically present to work.
Performs other similar or related duties as assigned.
Employee will be on-call therefore may be required to work beyond normal business hours at night and/or on weekends.

* Locates and marks position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors, using ruler, spirit level, and plumb bob.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Locates and marks position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors, using ruler, spirit level, and plumb bob.
Tests piping system for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gages attached to pipes for indication of leaks.
Inspects gas lines, makes repair as needed, and makes arrangements for city inspectors to test the lines. Acquires a signed certificate of approval for gas lines and turns in approved certificate to Maintenance Office.
Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of material, to provide access for future maintenance, and to avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable plumbing systems.
Cuts and bends pipe to correct length and shape by use of pipe-bending machine or by placing piper over block and bending by hand.
Cuts and threads pipe by use of pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe pipe-reading machine.
Joins tubing or pipes by means of sleeves, couplings, or unions, and solders joints using torch.
Fills pipe systems with water or air and reading pressure gages to determine whether system is leaking.
Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softeners.
Repairs and maintains plumbing, by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains.
Installs expansion and discharge valves.
Installs water filters.
Tests joints and connections for gas leaks using gas detector or soap-and-water solution.
Performs other duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
