Function as an Apprentice Electrician, under a certified or licensed Electrician for Bergelectric Corp. assist electricians with installing new electrical systems and repairing existing electrical systems while maintaining compliance with national, state, and local electrical codes along with all Bergelectric Corp. policies and procedures. Support activities at commercial, industrial, institutional and residential project locations. This is considered to be a safety sensitive position. Responsibilities Assist with the installation, repair, maintenance and testing of commercial, industrial and residential electrical systems in full support of Bergelectric Corp. safety, operations and productivity initiatives. Use industry related hand tools and power tools, under supervision. Assist the Electrician with measuring, cutting, bending, threading and installing wire and electrical cable systems, conduit systems and other wire raceway systems. Assist the Electrician with wires and cables within control centers, distribution boxes, transformers, transducers, switch gear, receptacles, switches, etc. Work with an Electrician to splice and terminate wires at junction points. Clean, gather and transport materials to electricians on the construction site. Communicate effectively with Foremen and crew members. Maintain workflow schedule to ensure all Bergelectric Corp. productivity objectives are met. Qualifications Must be currently enrolled or working on enrollment in an approved Apprentice program. Knowledge of electrical theory, basic circuits, branch circuits, and specialty systems. Familiar with aspects of operation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems. Basic knowledge of tools and equipment and how to safely use them. Job Summary: This role, positioned at an intermediate level, supports the efficient functioning of yard operations through various tasks and assistance.Responsibilities: Undertake intricate assignments, encompassing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs of pumps, gauges, pipes, and valves. Execute tasks related to Facilities Maintenance contracts, including plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, construction, and asphalt upkeep. Perform a wide spectrum of maintenance and construction duties, demonstrating problem-solving capabilities and independent thinking. Engage in physically demanding tasks, involving lifting, moving, and utilizing hand and power tools, as well as pressure washers. Collaborate both as a team member and independently. Communicate findings effectively to the chain of command and adhere to instructions coherently. Operate pickups and small equipment proficiently. Acquire knowledge of company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, including handling hazardous materials. Maintain accurate service records for equipment and ensure proper usage and safekeeping of company tools. Occasionally respond to hazardous material emergencies, environmental remediation calls, and confined space incidents. Participate in environmental operations and regulatory compliance activities. Undertake additional duties as necessary, ensuring safety, effectiveness, and documentation within OSHA and internal Hulcher standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment: Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers, following electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and voltage tester. Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints, using hand tools and test equipment. Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables, using hand tools. Tests malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment, and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers. Replaces faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices, using hand tools. Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards. May diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
