Reporting directly to Manager Distribution Engineering within the Operations department, the Industrial Engineer I is responsible for collaborating with, but not limited to, the Information Technology, Quality, Product Development, Sourcing, Purchasing and Logistics departments. Duties include analyzing and optimizing operational processes including personnel and material workflows, equipment, and inventory management to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance safety. Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and support cross functional processes to support Operations, resolve problems, eliminate errors and improve overall efficiency. Perform time studies to evaluate labor productivity and identify opportunities to optimize employee tasks and material workflow. Identify and recommend staffing, equipment, tooling, and layout updates to meet the business needs. Identify and execute ergonomic improvements to improve safety and reduce occupational injuries. Job Description Provides direct supervision of a Manufacturing work team responsible for the design, control, maintenance and calibration of assembly equipment and systems for production and testing. Plant wide management of all production equipment. Documentation of performance and reliability. Assure proper function of production and test equipment. · Administer current specifications product changeover instructions. · Train all maintenance and production personnel in proper equipment functions. · Assure that spare parts are stocked to assure minimum downtime. · Assist Maintenance and Quality personnel in troubleshooting, calibration and repair of production and test equipment. · Liaison and assist in maintaining and operating CIM system. · Assign and program all equipment electrical functions. · Establish good working relationships with maintenance and production personnel. Work closely with supervisors in all areas. · Schedule, prioritize, coordinate, and supervise work assignments of Assembly Maintenance Technicians. · Provide technical training and development for Technicians. · Support plant CIS and Safety Programs. · Design and implement cost reductions in Manufacturing through process and equipment improvements. · Work with central engineering on new product equipment designs and improvements. · Additional Functions: (Individual tasks, duties and responsibilities of the position of lesser importance Qualifications WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE Bachelor's Degree in Engineering 2 years experience an engineering role in high volume manufacturing environment. Knowledge of programming, troubleshooting, and installation of PLC/IPC controls, Advanced computer skills, PLC/IPC skills Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic/Pneumatic proficiency, Proficient in programming, troubleshooting, and installation Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
