Position Overview: The Manufacturing Engineering (with an Electrical Engineering emphasis) will support eight (8) facilities of the North American Food Division manufacturing operations. This position will work closely with the manufacturing facilities in regard to electrical programming, problem solving, etc. for both the 3-Piece and 2-Piece steel and aluminum food cans and end processes. Preparing bills-of-material and specifications to procure needed equipment and materials for a substation project. Preparing and filing applications and supporting documentation for engineering permits when necessary. Reviewing NESC clearance requirements and Maintenance personnel and ensure the public safety is protected. Assisting Real Estate in the acquisition of Substation property by coordinating the preparation of sketches, maps, exhibits and easement plans. Directing technical personnel to gather and record data for substation design projects. Working with outside engineering firms, vendors, equipment manufacturers and consultants. Providing engineering support to employees to assist in their learning of standards, procedures, designs, and associated issues. Analyzing engineering issues, structures, equipment, etc., and recommending appropriate solutions and alternate design options. Preparing estimates for proposed projects. Reviewing manufacturer drawings for compliance with specifications. Conducting design reviews, plant audits, and test witnessing at manufacturer's facilities as necessary. Evaluating equipment ratings and requirements, and project schedules to facilitate the accurate ordering of equipment to support project in service dates. Position Description: Industrial Engineer - Multi-Site Continuous Improvement LayerZero Power Systems is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to lead continuous improvement initiatives and optimize plant layouts across multiple manufacturing sites. This role involves supporting facility moves, designing layouts using CAD 2D tools, and driving operational excellence through Lean methodologies. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams across different locations. Primary Duties: · Develop and implement standardized processes and layouts across multiple facilities. · Coordinate plant moves and expansions at different sites, ensuring minimal disruption. · Identify and execute improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen principles. · Analyze workflows to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance quality. · Create and maintain accurate 2D CAD drawings for facility layouts and equipment positioning. · Experience on the systematic management of moving, storing, protecting, and controlling materials and products through the entire supply chain, from raw goods to finished products, using manual, automated, or semi-automated equipment to boost efficiency. · Validate designs with engineering and maintenance teams. · Collect and analyze operational data from multiple sites to support decision-making. · Prepare reports and presentations for leadership on improvement initiatives. · Partner with production, maintenance, safety, and quality teams across all sites. · Support capital projects and vendor coordination. Education: · Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or related field. Requirements Experience & Skills: · 5-10 years in a manufacturing environment with multi-site responsibility. · Proficiency in CAD 2D design software (AutoCAD or equivalent). · Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles. · Ability to calculate and apply FPM/m/s for material flow optimization. · Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. · Strong communication and project management skills. · Ability to travel between sites as needed. · Experience with multi-site facility relocation projects. · Familiarity with ERP systems and production planning tools. · Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher).
