The ideal candidate will provide technical engineering support for our large federal government agency's highly complex network infrastructure environment to include multiple enclaves comprising various classification levels.
Network engineering support includes all engineering activities required to support the standard information technology lifecycle. The ideal candidate will provide design and engineering activities in support of new network solutions for a multi-enclave enterprise network environment which encompasses various technology. In addition, the candidate will provide network support on an as needed basis to resolve networking issues that have not been resolved by the first three support tiers.

Primary Functions:
Supports and makes assessments of systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.

Provides input for documentation on new or existing systems and review engineering development documentation.
Supports the development and execution of tests to ensure the system's hardware and software meet documented requirements.
Work with designers and integration engineers to identify, analyze, and resolve operating/hardware system problems.
Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance as required.
Review system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
Participates in special projects as required.
Generates technical reports and white papers.
Review and assess systems engineering and test equipment documentation for Failure Review Boards Change Control Boards design reviews, and formal/informal peer reviews
Review and analyze released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.
Ensures that customer and internal configuration management requirements are implemented.
Maintain government records of configuration management activities.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:
Working with NIWC Pacific Engineer, Systems IV, will provide engineering & support services. Services required include AV design and installation of space operations centers fusing mission systems and ops center workstations in a manner that provides quick mission assessment and decisional information to adequately affect kill chain decisions. The Systems Engineer IV will provide:
* Provide Engineering oversite and Installation of AV equipment components and subcomponents in locations specified in the IDP or as otherwise directed by the Government

* Responsible for providing support to customers by researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting issues, and resolving incidents that cannot be resolved by Tier 1 (L1) and providing support for software and hardware technical problems. Network (LAN, WAN and Wireless)
* Troubleshooting & admin of Cisco Layer 2 & Layer 3 Routing, Cisco Wireless Networks, Cisco PBX Administration, Cisco standard protocols and Cisco CCNA certification
* Ability to support IT Cabling, Infrastructure Planning, and Design. Examples of scope work (cable patching, switch config/deploy, port enable/disable, analyze network traffic)
* TCP/IP, DHCP, Subnetting, VLAN, POE
* Experience with packet capturing example: Wire Shark
* Network maintenance, support and refresh

Data Center (Server Room) Management

The Systems Engineer will support the development of innovative designs to challenging engineering problems for a wide variety of applications.
