Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform visual inspection of material as required.
Perform layout checks as needed.
Perform rotational capacity tests on bolts prior to use in shop.
Work with outside inspectors to resolve quality issues on the floor.
Monitor welder qualification tests.
Monitor and record welding parameters to insure compliance to approved WPS.
Be able to read and understand the Welding code and Specifications.

Ability to understand and interpret blueprints, use measurement tools and techniques to verify geometric tolerances of fabricated parts and assemblies.
Strong attention to detail and ability to make informed decisions based on project codes and specifications
Coordinate your work with shipping department to assure loads have been inspected and ready to ship.
Work with supervisors to plan your work and time in each shop to facilitate the flow of quality work through the shop.
General working knowledge of Total Station to assist crews as needed and finalize assemblies during off shifts as needed.
Positive attitude to promote team morale and ability to coach employees for improved quality of workmanship

What is an Occupancy Verification?
Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and to do this they send out independent contractors. The purpose of the property inspection is:
To verify property occupancy.
To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.
Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
We contract with inspectors at a county level. This means that you would be responsible to complete all inspections in your county. In some cases, you will split the county with another inspector if there is enough volume for two inspectors.
Responsibilities
Most common type of inspection should only take 5-6 minutes.
Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
Report general property conditions and make a determination of occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in an app.
Requires being able to spend extended periods of time driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.
Requirements (to be considered you must have the following):
Computer with an internet connection
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you will be paying for your own gas)
Smartphone (Android or iPhone)

Pass a standard background check using a valid driver's license
Pay and Hours
This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary based on county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, you will earn the equivalent of $20-$30 per hour.
Depending on a county and if it is urban or rural you will complete anywhere from 20-500 inspections per month working 2-30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month.
Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect or are willing to cover a larger territory.
No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.

What You Will Do:

Construction observation includes all aspects of installation, from damage prevention to potholing and installation to restoration.
Required to work onsite with contractors as a representative of the facility owner (third party inspection).
Excellent communication skills and prefer a background in utility construction or associated fields.

Construction observation includes all aspects of installation, from damage prevention to potholing and installation to restoration.
Required to work onsite with contractors as a representative of the facility owner (third party inspection).
Excellent communication skills and prefer a background in utility construction or associated fields.
Typical work hours range from 40 to 60 hours per week, 5-6 days per week. There are no limits to your growth and how you can progress with your career at WSB.
Travel may be required for up to 50% of the time.

What You Will Bring:
High School Diploma
Valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
Pre-employment drug test as well as quarterly random drug testing.
Excellent technical, communication, and organizational skills.
Construction or Construction Inspection background.
Must be willing to work daily in the Menomonie area.

You must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
You're required to work with your hands, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. At times you may be working at or on uneven terrain, slopes, in confined spaces, or reinforced trenches.
Candidates with knowledge of CFR49/192/195 and/or who are Certified Welding Inspectors (AWS CWI / or CPWI+V) (Preferred)
A two-year technical degree from an accredited school in a field related to civil engineering construction is a plus, and/or a degree from a four-year accredited college will increase your opportunities for growth (Preferred)
Familiarity with construction processes, installation methods, utility mapping (as-builts) (Preferred)
Ability to comprehend/navigate state and municipality requirements as they relate to our projects (Preferred)
