This role develops inspection protocols, leads root cause investigations, supports operator training, and champions quality standards aligned with Genie and Genie Recon expectations. What You Will Do: Lead Quality Inspections: Conduct and oversee incoming, in-process and final inspections of reconditioned Genie equipment (boom lifts, scissor lifts, components, etc.) across key production areas: Core Receiving, Disassembly, Wash, Blast, Paint, Sub Assembly, and Final Assembly. Audit Processes for Compliance: Execute layered process audits (LPAs), workstation audits, and documentation reviews to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety standards, and quality protocols. Inbound Core Evaluation: Partner with receiving and technical teams to inspect inbound core units for damage, missing components, and suitability for reconditioning. Support disposition decisions with documentation and photos. Corrective Actions & Root Cause: Lead containment, investigation, and corrective actions when defects are discovered. Drive root cause analysis and track effectiveness of corrective actions through follow-up audits. Inspection Documentation: Maintain accurate inspection records, audit logs, and non-conformance reports. Provide visibility into quality trends and recurring issues. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with team leads, production staff, engineering, and supply chain to ensure continuous improvement and readiness of each unit for customer delivery. Support Operator Training: Identify training gaps related to quality and inspection processes. Assist in reinforcing best practices through on-the-floor coaching. Escalation & Reporting: Escalate critical issues to the QMS Lead and Production Manager. Contribute to weekly quality reports, board-level metrics, and huddle discussions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: High school diploma or GED; associate or technical degree preferred 3+ years of experience in inspection, quality control, or audit roles in a manufacturing or industrial environment Familiarity with mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs) or related equipment strongly preferred Knowledge of inspection tools, quality standards, and non-conformance tracking systems Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation discipline Ability to read blueprints, BOMs, and technical drawings Experience with QMS and continuous improvement programs (Lean, Six Sigma, ISO, etc.) Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or quality tracking software Strong communication and leadership presence on the shop floor Location: 2065 E Pythian St, Springfield, MO 65802

1st Shift - 6a-430pm M-TH The Core Inspector properly identifies and inventories every incoming core item playing a critical role in accurately supplying customers with the correct core. This is accomplished by visually inspecting parts for key identifiers or physical characteristics. The Core Inspector determines pieces that have non-salvageable qualities and records that information into the SRCL ReClaim inventory system in order to satisfactorily fulfill the Customer's order. Position Summary: The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing incoming, in-process and final inspections of reconditioned Genie aerial equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards, safety requirements, and operational performance. Working closely with core receiving, disassembly, blast, wash, paint, sub assembly, and final assembly teams, this role verifies that all units meet reconditioning specifications before progressing to the next phase or being released to the customer. The Quality Inspector helps maintain a culture of quality and continuous improvement across all stages of the reconditioning process. What You Will Do: Inspect Reconditioned Equipment: Perform detailed inspections of boom lifts, scissor lifts, and components throughout the Genie Recon process-focusing on structural integrity, fit/finish, mechanical function, and operational safety. Document Nonconformances: Accurately record defects, inconsistencies, or rework requirements. Generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and escalate critical issues to the Audit and Inspections Lead or QMS team. Follow Checklists & Standards: Utilize inspection checklists, SOPs, and product-specific guidelines to validate quality. Confirm that reconditioned units meet all safety and performance criteria before final release. Support Production Flow: Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to ensure quality inspections are completed on-time without disrupting takt time or production flow. Perform Visual & Functional Tests: Conduct visual inspections, dimensional checks, and operational tests (e.g., lift, rotation, drive functions) to verify unit readiness. Assist with Root Cause Investigations: Participate in problem-solving and corrective action efforts when recurring quality issues or defects are identified. Support Operator Feedback & Coaching: Provide real-time feedback to technicians and assemblers on quality issues, promoting a shared responsibility for quality. Maintain Quality Records: Complete inspection forms, photo documentation, and digital tracking logs to ensure traceability and continuous improvement. Minimum Qualifications Preferred: High school diploma or GED 1-3 years of quality inspection, mechanical assembly, or industrial production experience Strong attention to detail and ability to follow inspection protocols Familiarity with reconditioned or mechanical equipment preferred Basic understanding of inspection tools (calipers, gauges, etc.) and safety practices Ability to read technical documents and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) Basic computer/data entry skills for documentation and recordkeeping Strong communication skills and ability to work on a cross-functional team Prior experience inspecting mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs), heavy equipment, or industrial machinery Knowledge of QMS systems, visual inspection techniques, and Lean/5S practices Experience supporting audits or root cause analysis Location: 2065 E Pythian St, Springfield, MO 65802
