Brooklyn Grange seeks an experienced builder and installer to join our Design/Build/Maintenance department, which is charged with the design, construction, and maintenance of varied green spaces. This position will support the Lead Installer in executing urban landscape and hardscape projects.
Key responsibilities include assisting with the onsite construction of landscaping and hardscaping, following construction-related drawings, and working as part of the crew to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality installations.
The Installer is a skilled builder with experience in hardscaping, construction, and preferably landscaping and other trades projects. The ideal candidate is motivated, reliable, and a creative problem solver who can uphold Brooklyn Grange's standards throughout all phases of a green space buildout. Applicants should be positive and passionate about green spaces and sustainability, and should have experience contributing to construction projects from initial load-in to final punch list.
The Installer will report directly to the Lead Installer and work under their guidance.
SCHEDULE:
The Installer's schedule will consist of Monday through Friday work, approximately 40-45 hours per week. Installations typically begin at 7:00AM. The role is year round.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with the construction of professional hardscape and landscape installations, including decks, fences, pergolas, pavers, planter boxes, patios, green roof systems, etc.
Manage onsite construction and landscaping teams, safely according to OSHA guidelines.
Review and follow project documents, drawings, designs, and materials specs under the guidance of the Lead Installer and leadership of Design/Build/Maintenance
Work closely with and support the Lead Installer to help keep projects on track and maintain high-quality standards.
Contribute to a positive, safe, and collaborative work environment within the Installations team
Help identify and communicate potential issues to the Lead Installer to ensure successful and safe project execution Perform material/tool inventory; assist with plant runs, tool restocking, and vehicle load-ins and load-outs
Communicate clearly and professionally with teammates, leadership, and clients as directed by the Lead Installer
Maintain orderly and safe workspaces in compliance with OSHA and NYC DOB safety standards
Perform other work as needed, including infrastructural/facility projects at Brooklyn Grange's own locations
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Has 3-5+ years of experience installing hardscaping, carpentry, etc
Can read, understand, and follow construction documents
Has hands-on experience with a range of construction materials and techniques
Is an experienced builder, with knowledge of general assembly techniques, light machinery, power tools, and carpentry skills
Is positive, energetic, and has a strong work ethic; can work well within a crew setting
Is organized, dependable, and has strong communication skills
Holds a valid driver's license and is comfortable driving large vehicles in the city
Can lift 50 lbs. repeatedly, and can squat, kneel, bend over, and reach for extended periods of time; can undertake the repeated physical labor of landscaping work required of the position
Has attended a minimum of OSHA 30-hour training sessions, and holds an additional 10 hours of SST training (total 40 hours Site Safety Training required prior to start date)
Knowledge of irrigation systems not required, but is a plus
Certification to drive a forklift a plus, but not required Ability to communicate in Spanish a plus, but not required

The Telecommunications Equipment Installer III (Lead) is responsible for the installation and maintenance of telecommunication equipment for a variety of carriers. This includes fiber, transport equipment and all critical infrastructures within a central office. This lead role will provide high-quality service in customer technical spaces including data centers, mobile telephone switch centers, central office wire centers, and designated enterprise spaces.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Physically place, remove, or modify working and non-working equipment including the following:
Install superstructure components in support of cabling systems such as auxiliary bars, threaded rods, cable racking, cable trays, wire basket systems, etc...
Cutting, filing, drilling, modifying infrastructure components and working with various tools such as bandsaw, hammer drill, jigsaw, ratchet/sockets, etc…
Installation of data equipment cabinets and frames, data servers, switches, routers, repeaters, bridges, gateways, multiplexers, transceivers, firewalls.
Making connections / terminations to BDFBs and fuse panels.
Identify, label, measure, terminate and physically route power cables to servers, switches, and other equipment, adhering to electrical safety standards.
Identify, label, measure, terminate and physically route fiber optic and copper cables for high-speed data transmission, ensuring precise cable management and minimal signal loss
Set up and install power distribution units (PDUs), ensuring redundancy and proper load balancing to prevent power issues.
Conduct testing and document performance characteristics of hardware and software; determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing system.
Conduct fiber light meter, CAT5/6 and volt ohm meter testing to ensure proper levels, continuity, and termination points.
Perform test and turn-up along as well as other integration activities.
Resolve equipment and technical issues as they arise.
Read, analyze, and interpret detailed specifications and drawings, blueprints, schematics, and method of procedures (MOPs)
Perform quality validation on in-process and completed work.
Complete operations paperwork (e.g., expense reports, timesheets, job documentation, etc.) including daily job status reports as requested.
May oversee the work of less experienced installers; assume responsibility for the successful completion of installation projects.
Act as a customer contact; interface with customers and local supervisors regarding project status

$55,000 to $95,000+ per year! That is what installers at Closets By Design can expect to earn in as little as 18 months.
Closets By Design is now hiring at the entry level for its Installer Development Program. The beginning wage for the program is 17.00/hour and you will quickly move up the pay scale with raises every 3 to 6 months during the first year. Each level of accomplishment comes with an associated raise and you should be earning 25.00 per hour within 9 to 12 months and potentially more within two years.
The program is designed to introduce an entry-level associate to the world of woodworking and cabinet installation in a natural sequence of steps. Representatives who display a positive, problem-solving attitude and have the ability to learn by absorption will quickly progress through the program from Helper to Assistant installer to Lead Installer.

Job Summary
We are seeking a Door Installer/Repairer to join our team! As a Door Installer/Repairer, you will spend your time going to various work sites, talking with clients to assess their needs, and making recommendations based on their situation and budget. You will also be responsible for conducting repairs or basic maintenance for clients, presenting those clients with a final bill, and occasionally taking payment. The ideal candidate has excellent attention to detail, good customer service skills, and enjoys puzzles and problem-solving.
