HeartLine provides 24/7 support to individuals and families with a primary focus on de-escalating crisis situations presented via phone, text, and chat services. Situations can range from relationship struggles, parenting issues, child abuse, anxiety, and depression to suicidal thoughts or suicide attempts in progress. Specialists assess help-seeker needs, provide information and referrals, offer advocacy assistance when required, and follow-up, as assigned, to ensure needs are met. The Bilingual Crisis Contact Specialist is a dual-role position responsible for providing support through both phone and chat. This role serves the 988 NBU Suicide & Crisis Lifeline as well as the Disaster Distress Helpline. The Bilingual Crisis Contact Specialist provides call, chat, and text support to individuals in crisis, ensuring timely intervention, risk assessment, emotional support, and referral to appropriate resources, while maintaining compliance with HeartLine and national standards. To be considered for this role, applicants must reside in Oklahoma.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Respond to crisis calls, chats, and texts, providing emotional support, assessment, crisis intervention, and appropriate referrals in a consistent and non-judgmental manner.

Enrollment Requirements
Fall/Spring Semesters: All student employees must be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible to work any UCO student position. Half-time enrollment for fall/spring semesters is considered 5 hours for graduates and 6 hours for undergraduates. International students must be enrolled full-time to be eligible to work as a student employee. Full-time enrollment is 9 credit hours for graduates and 12 credit hours for undergraduates.
Summer Semester: Student employees working regular student positions must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours to be eligible to work during the summer. Students not enrolled in summer classes must be enrolled in fall classes in order to work during the summer, but they (and the department) will be required to pay FICA taxes. Student employees working FWSP positions must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours (if undergraduate) or 5 credit hours (if graduate) in order to work during the summer in a Federal Work Study Program position.

How you'll contribute
The Assessment Specialist - facilitates the intake and assessment process for individuals seeking behavioral health or medical services. Responsibilities include conducting initial evaluations, assessing patient symptoms, functioning, and care needs, and providing clinical data to physicians for level-of-care determinations. The Assessment Specialist coordinates referrals, admissions, and follow-up activities while ensuring compliance with EMTALA and emergency detention protocols. This role requires strong clinical judgment, documentation skills, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service to patients, families, and healthcare professionals. What we're looking for

A WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor is a paraprofessional support person who provides basic breastfeeding information and encouragement to WIC pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
* Supports WIC mothers during a normal breastfeeding experience.
* Counsels new WIC mothers at certification.
* Promotes breastfeeding to WIC participants.
