We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Design Manager to support our municipal water and industrial water infrastructure projects. Design Centers are focused in the US and Canada but deliver projects globally. Focused designs deliver water and wastewater solutions, including the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, water conveyance and consulting for our industrial and municipal clients. The Design Manager will lead the scoping, planning, and delivery of our projects including the quality and financial performance of the design team. This Product Manager and Market Strategy role is housed in our BeyondIF team, which is part of our Data & Digital division. BeyondIF is Jacobs innovation and R&D program and acts as an "accelerator" for a range of digital innovations across many markets and geographies. Duties and Responsibilities: - As a Lead Structural Engineer for an assigned project: - Work with a team of Structural Engineers and Designers in the development of calculations, specifications, construction drawings, and the structural model. - Fully understand all structural scope, recognize how that scope is both generated and impacted by other disciplines, and identify scope change. - Attend project meetings and take an active role to help team resolve concerns and solve problems across all disciplines - May be asked to act as the stamping Engineer of Record. - Participate in and champion internal, cross-discipline, and external project quality reviews. - Perform services during construction, including reviewing submittals, responding to contractor requests for information (RFIs), and performing site visits to the construction site as needed to help resolve construction issues. - Conduct on-site condition assessment of existing structures and prepare technical memorandums summarizing observations and any required repair recommendations. - Review shop drawings and respond to Requests for Information (RFI) - Competently perform all aspects of Structural Engineering analysis and design: - Plan and conduct work requiring judgement in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria. - Exercise sound engineering judgement and problem-solving skills, not hesitating to reach out to others for guidance or confirmation when questions arise. - Possess knowledge of principles and practices of wind and seismic design, including ability to apply required provisions of the building code. - Exhibit a high level of attention to detail and quality control: - Committed to Quality Assurance: Checking your own work, reaching out to peers and seniors for review & guidance when questions arise. - Perform calculation checking of other engineers' work. - Managing workload and taking full ownership of assigned work: - Take complete ownership of your portion of the structural scope, reliably working to meet schedule, budget, and quality requirements. - Clearly define your own scope and develop your ability to forecast level of effort needed to complete that scope. - Be ready to identify scope change and escalate it to your Design or Project Manager. - Work in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner with strong attention to detail - Developing leadership skills: - Provide technical guidance, coaching, and/or mentorship to designers and less experienced engineers. - Be proactive in advancing workflows, systems, and tools within the structural discipline. We're seeking a highly motivated 3D Geospatial Specialist to join our Digital Delivery team, with a focus on enabling early-phase masterplanning through advanced geospatial tools and workflows. You'll be responsible for setting up and managing geospatial platforms such as Autodesk Forma, ArcGIS, CityEngine, Civil 3D, Revit, Esri and other relevant software to support early-stage planning and analysis. Your work will lay the digital foundation for masterplanning efforts, which will later be transitioned to our detailed design teams.
