About the Role
Join Twitch's Mobile Core Engineering team as an Android Software Engineer and help shape the foundation of mobile development across Twitch. As a platform team, Mobile Core provides critical tools, frameworks, and best practices that empower all mobile engineers at Twitch to build exceptional experiences for millions of users. Twitch is evolving its mobile strategy from native‑first to a hybrid approach that leverages React in WebViews alongside native Android capabilities. You'll work on high‑impact initiatives including our hybrid web‑to‑mobile platform, performance optimization at scale, automated testing infrastructure, and developer tooling that accelerates velocity across the organization. About the Role
We are looking for a talented and experienced Software Developer experienced in developing backend services using cloud native technologies. As a member of this team, you will design, build, and maintain scalable and high-performance backend services. Responsibilities:
· Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code using Go (Golang).
· Build and manage scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services and APIs.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend, product, DevOps) to define, design, and ship new features.
· Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability, ensuring high availability and responsiveness.
· Write unit tests and integration tests to ensure code quality.

· Work with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and deploy applications in containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
· Maintain code documentation and architecture design records.

Qualifications:
· 3-5+ years of backend development experience with a strong focus on Golang.
· Solid understanding of Go's paradigms, idioms, and best practices.
· Experience with RESTful APIs and/or gRPC for building services.
· Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
· Strong knowledge of concurrency in Go, and an understanding of Go routines and channels.
· Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and working in distributed cloud-native environments.
· Proficiency in version control systems (Git).
· Familiarity with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
· Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and performance tuning.
