Position Summary:
The Healthcare Administration Intern assists the Operations Director team while reporting to the assigned Executive Director with a variety of administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of the facility. Essential Functions:

Requirements
Education: M.D. or DO with current state of license. DEA registration and the ability to obtain and maintain staff privileges at Jordan Valley Senior Care contracted agencies. Board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice with advanced certification in geriatrics preferred.
Experience: Must have experience working in a managed care environment and working with peers and other health providers to resolve utilization, quality management, performance improvement, pharmacy and therapeutics, peer review, credentialing, and physician leadership issues. Job Overview:

* Responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of, and conforming to legal requirements concerning the distribution of drugs, as well as good working knowledge of recent developments in the field of pharmacy (self-continuing education by attending available conferences, meetings and seminars).
* Help patients who are dropping off or picking up prescription orders.
* Create a profile of the patient's health and insurance information into the computer or update the patient's profile.
* Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of the pharmacy, in accordance with local, state, federal, and company regulations.
* Communicate with insurance carriers to obtain payment for prescription claims.
* At point of sale, verify that customer receives correct prescription (s) and offer pharmacist counseling.
* Complete weekly distribution center medication orders, place orders on shelves, and verify all associate paperwork.
* Prepares the pharmacy inventory.
* Communicate with prescribers and their agents to obtain refill authorization.
* Assist pharmacist in scheduling and maintaining workflow.
* Maintain knowledge of loss prevention techniques.
* All other duties as assigned

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
* State Pharmacy Technician License.
* Minimum of 1 year pharmacy technician experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or GED
* PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician.
