Assist in the performance of acceptance and installation tests on protection, control, and measurement devices and associated equipment in stations.
Test protection &control devices and equipment periodically and as required.

Assist with diagnosis of trouble, mis-operation, or damage of equipment and assist with corrective action to affect repair and prevent recurrence.
Operate a computer device to test, calibrate, and retrieve data from protection & control and devices.
Assist in the installation, maintenance, and operation of all power line carriers, station SCADA, and associated communications equipment or cables as assigned.
Perform switching under direct supervision of qualified personnel following direction of the proper operating authority.
Assist in the installation, maintenance, and operation of any new and added equipment or systems as assigned.
Maintain test equipment and automotive equipment in good working order so that work can be performed safely and efficiently anywhere throughout the System.
Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports and drawings as required.
Assist employees of equal or higher classification.
Perform all duties in accordance with the Company's safety rules and operating regulations, NERC and environmental compliance, and practices.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Education: Associate's degree in electrical engineering technology, electronic technology, or related technology field.
Experience: No previous work experience required. Must have the ability and desire to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to perform the duties and/or responsibilities of the key job (P & C Electrician A) in this family and be qualified through demonstration, examination and/or performance appraisal as determined by the Company. Valid Journeyman Electrician license
Special knowledge/Skills:

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics and written reference material
Ability to perform mathematical calculations
Ability to diagnose and resolve problems

Minimum Experience:
Five years experience in electrical field
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Diagnose and repair malfunctions in electrical circuits, systems and equipment using testing instruments and equipment.
Install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, power equipment and components of machinery and equipment following electrical code, manuals, specifications, schematics and blueprints.
Install and repair control and distribution apparatus, including motors, relays, switches, thermostats, circuit-breaker panels, etc.
Install and connect power supply wiring, cables, conduit and electrical apparatus for machines and equipment in new and existing facilities following diagrams, schematics or blueprints.
Test continuity of circuits to ensure compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments.
Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using rulers, measuring devices, hand tools, pipe threader, and conduit bender
Repair or recommend replacement of electrical appliances, including commercial ovens, ranges, steam tables, washers, dryers, etc.
Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds and equipment following established inspection procedures.
Maintain inventory of district-owned tools, equipment and materials
Work with building principals and supervisors to complete projects
Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean
Respond to emergency calls as needed.
