This mechanic maintains external fuel and grounding systems, performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GSE, inspects, tests, and operates GSE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation, services equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air, diagnoses mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment, and technical publications. This work also does the following: disassembles and assembles malfunctioning GSE accessories and components, removes, disassembles repairs, cleans, treats for corrosion, assembles, and reinstalls GSE components and accessories, stencils and marks GSE in accordance with technical publications, stores, handles, labels, uses, and disposes of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations. This mechanic prepares GSE for storage and mobility deployment; and operates, cleans, inspects, and services GSE towing vehicles. In addition to maintaining vehicle records, this mechanic maintains, and updates paper and electronic equipment records, provides dispatch service for GSE, including positioning equipment to 77 support aircraft maintenance and flying operations, practices good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage prevention, and safety at all times.
Required experience: At a minimum four (4) years of experience in inspection maintenance, repair and modification of powered ground support equipment.

* Process Visual Information Display System/Maintenance Action Forms (VIDS/MAF) from aircrew or maintenance technicians in accordance with OPNAVINST 4790.2 Series, Navy, and Company Instructions.
* Assists in coordinating aircraft moves and static display requirements.
* Performs all other required duties as applicable and assigned by supervision.
* Performs aircraft organizational level maintenance functions on MV-22 aircraft.
* Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance support for assigned MV-22 aircraft
* Performs inspection, disassembly, repair, servicing, TD compliance, modification, assembly, corrosion control, preservation/de-preservation
* Maintain aircraft and aeronautical equipment to continuously support the assigned readiness posture outlined in in the activities plan and daily flight schedule
* Aircraft maintenance action documentation via logs, records, forms, and electronic means
* Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, pneumatic, hydraulic, ventilation and heating systems.
* Use hand tools, power tools, machines, specific and general aviation test measurement and diagnostic equipment.
* Inspect, repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft components/subcomponents to include rigging of flight control.
* Read and interpret manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
* Confined space operations to include fuel cell entry
* Support Equipment (SE) operation and inspections
* General aircraft maintenance
* Requisition repair parts, materials, and consumable supplies through military supply system.
* Perform general housekeeping and organization of workstation(s), shop(s), maintenance facility to provide a clean, safe, and FOD free environment
* Perform shift work and/or overtime as required
* Perform other tasks as directed.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Seven or more years rotary wing maintenance experience
* Naval Aviation Maintenance Control Management course (C-555-0053)
* Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) for Airframes, Power Plants and Electrical Systems
* Basic Corrosion Control
* Previously certified Tire and Wheel
* Previously certified Hydraulic Contamination
* Previously certified MV-22 Plane Captain
Basic Qualifications:
* Two or more years' MV-22B O-Level and/or D-Level maintenance experience
* Shall be able to obtain Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) qualification within 90 days of employment
* Must be able to work shift maintenance as required.
* Must be able work flexible work-week schedules as required.
* Must be able to climb ladders, raised platforms, and work on top of and below aircraft
* Must be able to use hand and power tools.
* Must have dexterity to handle small parts.
* Must be able to deploy to support off station exercises and perform other support duties as assigned.
* Must satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check Local Records Check and Credit (NACLC) or Access National Agency Check with written Inquiries (ANACI)
* Must be eligible for Common Access Card (CAC).
Compensation
$45.29/hour

Employees receive a minimum health and welfare benefit of $7.20 per hour paid up to 40 hours per week.
