This experienced professional will foster relationships with top transportation clients and teaming partners, work closely with our local operations in San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento, Stockton, Concord, Santa Rosa and Fresno and will lead the development of client-centric delivery teams that will position us for extraordinary growth into the future.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The successful candidate will be able to:
* Shape the growth strategy for Kleinfelder's Northern California Area Transportation
* Drive sales from a select group of targeted clients in the transportation, aviation, and infrastructure market.
* Understand the clients' business needs and develop innovative value-added solutions and cost-effective recommendations to exceed the clients' needs.
* Coordinate project delivery and proposal teams with clear and succinct communication as to the client requirements and differentiation strategies.

* Proactively network with clients, teaming partners and industry partners to understand the market trends, needs and future opportunities that creates a Return on the Investment.
* Work in a matrixed work environment, interacting with business development and operations teams, and maintaining close communications with the client to represent their needs effectively.
The Northern California Transportation Leader will focus on advancing the relationship with the targeted transportation clients in surface transportation, aviation, ports/harbors, and transit areas of the project lifecycle with Kleinfelder's comprehensive suite of services. The Northern California Transportation Leader will thoroughly understand the client's business needs to develop innovative solutions and sound recommendations to meet their needs. Further, the Northern California Transportation Leader will coordinate project delivery and proposal teams with clear, succinct communication, regarding client requirements and differentiation strategies. We are seeking a professional with proven existing relationships (working toward $18 - $20 million-plus business) in the transportation design, bridge engineering, geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, materials testing, quality assurance, program management / construction management, or similar professional consulting services.
EXPERIENCE & ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related technical field.
* Minimum 9-12 years of proven progressive experience in transportation infrastructure projects (highways, bridges, rail/transit, aviation, and ports/harbors).
* 10 + years of direct interaction with Northern California project stakeholders (CALTRANS / DOT's, municipalities, transportation engineering firms, design/build contractors, etc.).
* 6-7 years of management experience desired.
* 5-6 years of supervisory/management experienced desired.

The Environmental/Civil EIT will function as a project designer and assistant project manager on mid-size to large projects. The SW Regional BC Lead will coordinate, on a regional basis, projects with inter-related disciplines such as hydrology, hydraulics, structural, geology, geotechnical, civil, mechanical, CADD and GIS. The position will also require coordination with HDR's other regional and corporate business class technical leads (BC Practice Leads, etc.) and advisors. The position will also be expected to reinforce the Quality Management Program (QMP) and participate in staff training, as needed.
As a SW Regional BC Lead, you will participate in the corporate management of the DLCWs program. This is a Hybrid/primarily remote role that requires the ideal candidate to live within San Jose, Santa Cruz, Fresno, Sacramento, Santa Rosa, or the Bay Area. Currently requires quarterly in-person meetings but travel requirements are subject to change.
Required Qualifications
* AutoCAD Design Experience
* 2+ years drafting traffic control plans using AutoCAD
* Basic knowledgeable in MUTCD/CATTCH codes and regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
* An Associates of Applied Science degree (AAS) in design and drafting technology or a related field
* Experience with California DOT and County design policies and procedures
* Basic understanding of CalTrans Traffic Control Plans

Benefits & Salary: This position is an Exempt position, and pays between $55k-90K, annually depending on experience.
Benefits offered include company sponsored medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plan with company match. Also offered are tuition reimbursement, voluntary life, disability, critical illness, accident and hospitalization plans. HSA or FSA medical accounts and FSA dependent care and transportation/parking accounts are also available. These benefits are subject to employee contribution amounts generally set annually.
