We are seeking a skilled and dedicated cytotechnologist who will work closely with our physicians and our current cytotechnologist, who has been with us for nearly 40 years, by screening specimens and evaluating specimen adequacy. We work in a friendly collegial atmosphere. As a cytotechnologist in our organization, you will play a crucial role in the accurate diagnosis of various diseases through screening specimens. We receive body fluids, bronchoscopy specimens, and do many FNA. We are adding EBUS at our Hospital, which will require on-site adequacy evaluations. Please note that this position does not involve any Pap smears.
Responsibilities:
- Perform microscopic examination and analysis of cellular specimens, including non-GYN specimens.
- Assess specimens for adequacy to ensure accurate diagnosis.
- Identify and document abnormal cells or cellular changes.
- Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic information.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of findings.
- Adhere to quality control and quality assurance protocols.
- Stay current with advancements in cytology techniques and technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or a related field.
- Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent certification.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent microscopy skills.
- Proficiency in laboratory information systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Essential Duties:
Safely performs analytical testing (quality control testing, manufacturing plant technical support and evaluation of new sources of raw materials and finished products)
Basic wet chemistry and use of Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) instrument equipment
Receiving, labeling, and analyzing samples
Assumes technical responsibilities including operating various laboratory and office equipment as necessary to meet scheduling demands

* Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering Technology (Construction, Civil, etc.) Construction Engineering, Civil or Geotechnical/Geological Engineering, Geology or related degree.

Performs routine and special laboratory tests within the different laboratory departments.

Calls critical test results to physicians or nurses immediately and according to established criteria.

Job DescriptionWe are seeking an entry level lab technician who will be responsible for performing laboratory tasks. The ideal candidate can focus and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
This is NOT an analytical lab position. This position will NOT involve running 100s of samples daily on the same piece of equipment. Position will require assembly of custom test setups, troubleshooting of equipment, and method development.
The candidate will perform project-based testing of chemicals and will be cross-trained to use a variety of testing equipment.
Tasks will include equipment calibration, sample preparation, and sample evaluation following established protocols.
Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Develop knowledge of stimulation and production chemistries to understand application, testing requirements, and parameters for performance optimization. This may include visits to well sites and customer locations to understand processes and/or aid with collection of samples.
Record, analyze, and interpret data, while ensuring proper documentation and adherence to data integrity principles.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
Communicate effectively with management to ensure efficient workflow and clear understanding of project objectives.

Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or a related field; or equivalent experience in a laboratory setting.
Familiarity with laboratory equipment, techniques, and safety protocols.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong math skills a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Familiar with PowerPoint and excel. A skill test will be required before hire.
