Purpose

This role supports safe operations and maintenance of both traditional and computer-aided equipment within the Build Lab. The technician will help monitor lab usage, maintain tools and supplies, and promote safety protocols while gaining hands-on experience in fabrication techniques and lab management.
Responsibilities

Required Qualifications
Studies in design or fabrication-based curriculum, or an allied field (such as an artist practice, product design, carpentry, etc.). Experience in fabrication and the maintenance of analog and digital fabrication equipment. Demonstrated ability to teach and train others the knowledge and skills required to use tools, materials, and techniques safely and effectively to with wood and a variety of other materials. Demonstrated ability to lead and effectively communicate information in a clear and understandable manner, both verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's and/or master's degree in a related art/design field. Academic or professional shop supervisory/management experience. Experience teaching workshops or classes, preferably to college-aged students.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
Medical Laboratory Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist (MT, CLS):
Technologist must have a Bachelor of Science Degree
Technologist must have Medical Laboratory Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist generalist certification from a nationally recognized accrediting agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT etc.)
Technologist must have a minimum of two (2) years of laboratory experience
SERVICES:
Services shall be provided 40 hours per week to include rotating weekends and Federal holidays with flexible eight (8), ten (10) or twelve (12) hour tours.
The Chief Technologist, P&LMS (or designee) shall determine, regarding VA needs, the scheduled tour of duty.
Employees shall be given one-week notice of schedule changes.
Should occasionally overtime hours be required due to short staffing or increased workload, prior approval must be received by the CTVHCS P&LMS Chief Technologist or designee.
The Chief, P&LMS (or designee) shall determine, regarding VA needs, the frequency, and lengths of duty hours.
Technologists shall perform various clinical laboratory testing procedures in the General Clinical Laboratory in accordance with VA policies and procedures and the regulations of the medical staff bylaws of CTVHCS.
Technologists shall provide the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) (or designee) at and a two (2) week notice of all planned leave less than three (3) days to provide quality and timely patient care.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Is expected to use independent technical judgment to analyze and interpret laboratory results.
Will perform, evaluate, interpret, correlate, and validate the accuracy of laboratory procedures and results.
Requires a broad exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with minimal technical supervision.
Will be required to monitor quality control systems and measures.
Requires the ability to interpret and apply complex written instructions.
Must utilize basic knowledge of laboratory equipment and be able to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation.
May need to resolve problems encountered in the laboratory.
Must be able to communicate, consult, and interact with other members of the healthcare team, external relations, customer service, and patient education.
Will perform a broad range of laboratory procedures, including advanced and complex laboratory procedures. Must be able to recognize deviation from expected results and use scientific principles to analyze and correct problems.
Evaluate and solve problems related to collection and processing of biological specimens for analysis accounting for physiologic processes and requirements.
Maintain and document the optimal functioning of laboratory equipment. Use, calibrate, and identify malfunctions; repair and perform preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Troubleshoot issues with laboratory instruments and resolve problems. Diagnose deviations in test performance due to instrument malfunction.
Perform and document quality control and quality assurance activities and corrective actions related to test performance using statistical principles and theories of performance improvement.
Identify discrepancies, solve problems, and present solutions.
Answer inquiries regarding test results, methodology, test specificity, test sensitivity, and specific factors that influence test results. Interpret results and suggest follow up test selection or procedures.
Must meet all acceptable quality and productivity standards as defined by Chief, P&LMS or designee.

Required Qualifications
The successful candidate must hold a master's degree in clinical/medical laboratory science or closely related field; active and current ASCP BOC certification as a medical laboratory scientist MLS(ASCP) CM (or other professional certification recognized by the department); at least 3 years of full-time employment experience as a clinical/medical laboratory scientist; and evidence of current competence and ongoing professional development in clinical/medical laboratory science. We strongly encourage candidates with doctorate in clinical laboratory science (DCLS), PhD in clinical/medical laboratory science or related field; higher education teaching experience; national certification as a specialist in a CLS/MLS discipline; advanced certification in online teaching; proven familiarity with NAACLS accreditation; accreditation experience in laboratory science education; active in professional organizations; employment experience within multiple disciplines in the CLS/MLS field; passion to work with first-generation students, and the ability to teach in multiple disciplines that complement our program.

American Traveler is seeking a Cath/EP/IR Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week assignment in a Level II Trauma and Primary Stroke Center.
Responsibilities
Position is based in a four-room interventional suite within a Level II Trauma Center
Unit covers Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology, Interventional Radiology, Vascular, and Neuro IR procedures
Primary Plus Stroke Center with thrombectomy capability and Primary Heart Attack Center with open heart backup
Day shift from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM
7 days of on-call duty per month, including 1 weekend every 4 weeks
Responsibilities include interventional scrubbing in a multimodal suite with a focus on cardiac, vascular, and neuro interventional procedures
Level II Trauma, Primary Plus Stroke, and Heart Attack Center environment
Local candidates are accepted but may be offered a reduced rate due to facility radius rules
COVID vaccination is not required
All positions are auto offer
Dress code and scrub requirements are per facility policy
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years relevant experience as a Cath/EP/IR Technologist
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
Current applicable professional license required; license verification within 30 days prior to assignment start
Experience with interventional scrubbing for Cardiac Cath, EP, IR, Vascular, and Neuro IR cases
Preferred experience documenting with Merge Hemo
Candidates must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
