General Functions:
Processes and tests blood and other body fluid specimens for the clinical laboratory
Reviews test results and applies the correct clinical interpretation of that data

SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Medical Directors and management staff, provides state of the art laboratory specimen testing, including phlebotomy, from neonates to geriatric patients ensuring patient safety. Performs advanced responsibilities as required. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree from an approved college or university and/or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology, or equivalent such as military training as defined by 42 CFR 493.1489. Personnel who, prior to 2/28/92 have qualified at the Medical Technologist level by achieving a satisfactory grade on a HHS examination. The above meets required criteria as defined by CLIA regulations for High Complexity testing (42 CFR 493.1489, Jan. 24, 2003).
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3 years as a medical technologist in acute care facility with demonstration of increasing responsibilities
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Registered with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT or CSMLS within 12 months of hire). Equivalency evaluation by ECE, NACES or AICE for non-US trained personnel must be completed within 30 days of hire. Licensure, as required by State. Once certified, no annual renewals are required.

Education/Skills
Associate's degree in cardiovascular technology, radiologic technology, or a healthcare-related field preferred
Experience
2 years of Diagnostic, Interventional Radiology, or Cath/EP Lab experience is required
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required within 6 months of hire to work/perform independently
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is required within 6 months of hire to work/perform independently at Pediatric facilities
One of the following certifications is required: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) by CCI
Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) by CCI
Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by CCI
Radiography (R) by ARRT

**Work Schedule:** Shift 1, 5x8-hours, Monday-Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm

**Job Responsibilities:**
+ Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
+ Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
+ Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
+ Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
+ Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
+ Replenish test bench supplies as needed
+ Maintain a clean and safe work environment
+ Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
+ Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards
**Job Requirements:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Previous medical/lab experience is preferred
+ Previous production experience is a plus
+ Comfortability with handling biological specimens
+ Ability to accurately identify specimens
+ Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
+ High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
+ Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
+ Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
+ Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
+ Must pass a standardized color blindness test
+ Flexibility to work overtime as needed

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Temporary Lab Assistant to join the hematology department. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in a large reference laboratory. Responsibilities * Assist in the hematology department, primarily working on the track.
