Ability to conduct a first article inspection to inspect in-process parts and finished machined parts. Repair broken parts or machines when necessary Machinist 2 Continue activities as a Machinist 1 and conduct the following actions on their own. Program CNC machines utilizing Mastercam/CAPS with limited direction from a mentor. Operate multiple machines based on cycle times. Assist in mentoring new employees. Provide suggestions on how to increase efficiencies throughout the shop and on jobs. Machinist 3 Continue activities as a Machinist 2. Work independently without assistance from a supervisor/ mentor on most jobs. Reporting Structure: This position reports directly to the department supervisor or shift lead. Working Conditions: The worker is subject to noise, there is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. The worker is subject to hazards such as exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The worker is subject to standing or remaining upright on their feet, particularly for sustained periods of time. The worker is subject to oils, there is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
