**Principal Accountabilities:**
+ Move, receive and ship product or materials per written and computerized materials, record transactions into computerized systems and provide support to others under occasional guidance
+ Receive incoming goods verifying packaging documentation against shipment records and checks for damages generally following standard procedures using judgement in more complex issues
+ Gather, weigh, prepare, verify and document items for shipment according to specifications and the applicable transportation method, including recording received and shipped items, following standard procedures using judgement in more complex issues
+ Ensure safe storage of product in the warehouse, minimizing damage, utilizing in-depth understanding to perform required duties and assist others
+ Operate equipment and machines such as hand trucks, forklift, high-lift mobile equipment, palletizer, stretch-film wrapper, labeler or conveyors in order to stack or wrap materials to move materials, store product and prepare product for shipment
+ Perform housekeeping duties and general warehouse maintenance
+ Understand and adhere to all safety policies and procedures, maintains a safe and clean work environment
+ Operate packaging equipment (palletizer, stretch-film wrapper, labeler and conveyors) used to stack and wrap materials prior to warehousing
+ Uphold personal safety requirements to support "Safe People" and zero incidents"

**Required Qualifications:**

Safe Equipment Operation:

Description
As a Forklift Operator with Liberty Packaging, you will contribute to the growth of our business by being a key player in safely moving goods and materials around a high traffic industrial environment. As a Forklift Operator you will help maximize efficiency of the production process by safely operating mobile equipment to move product, accurately scanning inventory in and out of the business, operating shrink wrap machines, and preparing shipments for transportation.
This full-time position reports directly to a Production Supervisor and is located at our Rock Island, IL manufacturing facility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Safely operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, lift trucks, hoists, or other material handling equipment in a high traffic industrial environment.
* Accurately utilize an electronic scanning system to include a touch screen monitor located on the forklift, to track inventory levels and product location.
* Responsible for regularly completing pre-operation inspection and reporting equipment faults or damages to leadership or maintenance.
* Prepare shipments for transport, consolidate partial pallets, and operate the shrink wrap machine as needed.
* Move product and/or materials throughout the facility, including loading and unloading trailers.
* Follow safety regulations and company guidelines.
* Other duties, as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
* High School diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution AND 1+ year experience operating mobile equipment or comparable experience in place of education.
* Previous experience with computer skills such as typing, printing, and data entry.
* Previous experience applying math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
* Previous experience reading, following, and/or completing detailed work instructions.
* Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
* Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks.
* Knowledge of distribution documentation: pick lists, packing slips, and bills of lading.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The starting pay rate for this position is $21.00 per hour. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. **Responsibilities**
+ Professional accident-free operation of the forklift and the precise keeping of the forklift inspections.
+ Systematic maintenance and cleaning of the forklift
+ Continuous tracking of the location of goods during material handling using WMS System accordingly and ensure accurate data entry.
+ Perform any other manual job at the direction of the warehouse supervisor or team lead e.g. sampling inventory cleaning
+ During the seed delivery and return season: ensure proper loading and unloading of transport vehicles with quality packages to meet customer expectations
+ Maintain safety standards
+ Keep the warehouse clean and tidy
+ Initiate follow emergency procedures when necessary
**Essential Skills**
+ Ability to count accurately when moving inventory
+ Ability to read scales
+ Ability to work with and read a computer
+ Ability to multi-task and detailed oriented
+ Being alert and aware when driving the forklift in a safe manner
+ Ability to communicate verbally and written in English and work by yourself or with a team
+ Ability to work in tighter confined spaces with a forklift
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Ability to pass compliance checks and other pre-employment screenings.
+ Reliable transportation to the work site.
+ Enthusiasm, good attitude, honesty, and a willingness to treat all with respect.

**Additional Information**
+ $19 - $22/hr based on shift worked

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
