The Baler Operator is responsible for conducting basic preventative maintenance and inspections of the machine, ensuring it is in proper working order.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor the flow of materials ensuring they are loaded correctly into the baler
Performs duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
Operates industrial balers and automated bunker system in the recycling plant.
Performs all assigned basic preventative maintenance on industrial balers and associated equipment.
Makes minor repairs and adjustments to industrial balers and associated equipment.
Operates computer controlled automated bunker system.
Properly utilize balers and bunkers to ensure single stream processing is not interrupted.
Responsible for housekeeping in assigned area including equipment and work areas.
Maintain timely, appropriate, and professional communications with plan operations, maintenance department, and baler supervisor.
Provide daily baler production reports to plan operations.

EXPERIENCE
Must be able to read, speak, and write basic English
Mechanical aptitude
Previous experience operating industrial machinery
Experience in the Recycling industry preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Regular use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms
Exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas.
Exposure to residential and commercial recyclables and waste.
Ability to work flexible hours; overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays.
Legally eligible to work in the United States.
Valid driver's license (if applicable).
