Summary: The Hydrovac system is a non-destructive method of excavating as an alternative to mechanical equipment or hand-digging. The Hydrovac uses pressurized water and a vacuum system to quickly, safely, precisely and cleanly excavate around utilities and pipelines.
Essential Qualifications, Duties, and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)
Must have either a CDL Class A or B with air brakes & tanker endorsements (Hazmat endorsement not required);
Clean driving record & a minimum of 1-year CDL driving experience;
Previous Hydrovac or trenching experience is preferred;
TWIC Card is required;
Ability to travel & work out of town/state for extended periods of time;
Ability to be on-call 24/7 for emergency response work;
Driving and operating Hydrovac units;
Completing tasks associated with daylighting excavation, trenching, and shoring;
Ninety percent or more of the job's work time is spent operating the on-board hydro-vacuum system outside the truck performing non-destructive excavation around sensitive underground piping and cables.;
Other Hydrovac work consists of tank entry, cleaning and vacuuming, mobilization of equipment, attending training sessions, paperwork, truck maintenance, safety meetings, etc.;
Rigging equipment in and out;
Performing pre and post trip inspections;
Completing all required paperwork on a daily basis
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions; work near moving mechanical parts; work in high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of radiation and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands:
The employee must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. General Description:
Operates various power-driven machinery used to move dirt or other materials. May operate all
or some of the follow types of equipment: Backhoe, Bulldozer, Font-End Loader, Motor Grader,
Skid-steer, Dump Truck, Track-hoe, etc.
Essential Functions:
• Sets up and operates equipment.
• Adjust machine settings to complete tasks according to specification, accurately and in a
timely manner.
• Move hand and foot levers to control diesel, electric, gasoline or steam-powered
operating equipment.
• Interprets hand signals to determine where materials are to be placed.
• May be required to manipulate equipment on unleveled working surface.
• Assist in lifting, position and securing of materials and equipment.
• May be responsible for routine maintenance or repairs.
• Responsible for observing and complying with all safety rules.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Cleans and maintains equipment.
• Inspects equipment for defective parts, documents and notifies the supervisor of the
defects or malfunctions.

Physical Demands:
Field/Jobsite Environment - Standing, sitting, climbing, crawling, standing, crouching, bending,
pushing/pulling, walking on uneven surfaces, and exposure to loud noises are to be expected
on a jobsite environment. This position is predominately outdoors at an Industrial Construction
Site. Exposure to extreme hot or cold outside temperatures is possible.
Position Type/Expected Work Hours:
This is a full-time, hourly position. Days and hours of work vary from each jobsite. Occasional
evening/weekend work or travel may be required as job duties demand.
Required Education and Experience:
• 3+ years of industrial field experience as a Class-A Civil Operator
• Must hold NCCER Certification or willing to test
Industry Related Requirements:
• Must hold a valid TWIC Card
• Must hold a valid OSHA Basic Plus
• Must be able to pass all Safety Council related courses
• Must undergo Pre-Employment Screening (physical, drug & alcohol screen, audiogram,
fit test if applicable)
• Must hold a valid Driver's License to operate company equipment and/or vehicles
• Must undergo Operator Physical & hold current Medical Card

The BAS System Operators are responsible for building-wide controls planning, networking, and coordination with other government entities and/or construction contractors responsible for adding or modify controls components to the building(s).
The operators shall attend all team meetings, and provide input, review, or comment on all related initiatives to modify/repair building controls. The operators shall provide technical advice, guidance, and review of engineering drawings related to controls work. The operators shall have the ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience and have knowledge of control theory and HVAC systems.
The operators' skill set shall include identifying and repairing complex electronic control system malfunctions, providing training on electronic control systems operations, commissioning and servicing of building controls and facilities management systems, and performing preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning and general servicing of electronic control systems (including troubleshooting of systems). BAS system operator shall work out of the BAS room.
Operator shall ensure each facility's Building Automation system generates an activity log for every single action that occurs to the building automation system. Operators should maintain daily logs that are electronically generated by each facility's BAS. Each log, at a minimum, shall include, but not be limited to, all actions, changes, logins, initiated by all users
