Timeframe for certification will be determined by the Fire Chief. Must be certified as a Fire Officer I to drive and/or operate the P-18 and P-26. May be temporarily assigned as Lead Firefighter if properly trained and certified. Assist in training and directing personnel in the knowledge and skills necessary to qualify for future vacancies. Maintain all fire suppression, rescue and EMS related skills required of a firefighter and may perform those related skill/task when directed. With the assistance of the maintenance shop, conduct fire pump service test on all assigned vehicles. When properly trained, must be able to pump from various water sources, produce a master stream, complete a resupply operation and support a sprinkler system. Inspect apparatus to ensure the vehicle is in proper working order. Complete inventory checks to validate assigned tools and equipment are present and in good working order. In the absence of the assigned ECC Operator, position may be required to fill-in to ensure compliance with PWS mandate. Driver/Operator will report directly to the assigned vehicle Lead Firefighter.
