Accommodates block scheduling Monday through Friday

Responsible for prepping cases, maintaining sterile fields, assisting with procedure-related tasks and inventory control

Participation in rapid response and isolation precautions when required

Work in a 32-bed Medical Surgical unit of a hospital
Patient ratios are 1:6
Night shifts are 3x12 hours, 18:30-07:00
Weekend requirement is 6 shifts within a 6-week period
Floating required within scope
No on-call responsibilities
Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis
Uses Epic documentation system; Epic experience preferred
Any scrub color is acceptable as long as there is no hospital logo
First-time travelers are accepted
No travel pairs or groups permitted
No local traveler candidates accepted
No more than 3 days of requested time off will be auto-approved
No requested time off permitted during the first week of orientation
Requirements
Active NM or compact RN license required at time of consideration
Current BLS certification required; CPI preferred
Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
Epic charting experience preferred
Former permanent staff must be separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility

Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced PCU RN with at least two years of recent telemetry/progressive care experience and a NM or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
Work in an 18+ bed telemetry/progressive care unit
Direct patient care for adult progressive care population
Night shift, 12 hours (1900-0730), three shifts per week
Floats required between departments and local locations within 20 miles
Uses Epic EMR system, with experience preferred
Onsite Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test administered during orientation
Provide direct nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
Collaborate with healthcare team and supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
Holiday and weekend coverage may be required per unit needs
First-day onsite orientation will include mandatory BCA testing with termination after two failed attempts
Requirements
Active NM or compact RN license required
Minimum two years current experience in telemetry/progressive care unit with at least 18 beds
Must have completed at least one prior 13-week travel assignment
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
Current BLS and ACLS certifications from American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
Must successfully pass onsite BCA test prior to starting; one retest allowed if needed
Epic EMR experience preferred
No local candidates accepted; must live at least 50 miles from the facility
Former staff must wait one year from prior employment to be eligible as a traveler
