POSITION SUMMARY
As an Automotive Service Technician for Big O Tires, you will perform service and installation activities associated with store products and services in an accurate and timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide fast and friendly customer service
Promote sales through explaining benefits of service and products to customers
Maintain timely and professional communication with management, employees, vendors and customers
Keep supervisor informed of any maintenance problems and/or any issues that need attention
Safely operate customer vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions
Drain oil and change oil filter; lubricate vehicles; install, rotate and balance tires and properly torque wheels; check and fill various fluids; check and replace various filters and lights
Unload transport trucks and warehouse tires and inspect disposed tires for adjustment
Maintain a clean environment, tools and equipment, using company guidelines
Know and adhere to company policies and procedures
Utilize and perform all duties on the company checklists to meet consistent adherence to policies, procedures and expectations
QUALIFICATIONS
ASE Certification
Availability to work holidays, weekends, and after regular business hours as needed

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Functions as a skilled-level technician who is able to perform diagnoses and repairs in all areas, in addition to being specialized in particular areas of repair and who has previously worked as a general service technician for three-plus years.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
Ensures proper repair order documentation, i.e., complaint, cause and correction noted on every repair order with punch time for each operation.
Reviews job status frequently, logging status and reporting any change in time or cost estimates to the appropriate service advisor and/or customer.
Maintains an organized work in process through the dealership software system.
Prepares estimates when required.
Only flags a completed line on the repair order when the job is complete through the shop.
Follows all warranty material disposition procedures.
Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
Perform a quality multipoint inspection on every vehicle to include supporting documentation; i.e. photos/video
Documents all work performed and recommended within the dealership technologies.
Road test all vehicles and document exact out mileage.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or General Education degree (GED) in addition to 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
English language required, (Bilingual a plus)
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Valid Driver's License
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.

Diagnose and correct faulty and malfunctioning mechanical and/or electrical components, devices and equipment related to CNG, LNG and/or LCNG.
Clean and maintain fueling locations.
Drive to or between company sites to perform job responsibilities.
Update and document all activity, service orders, work performed and recommendation in our D365 Clean Energy Field Service Automation (FSA) software. Must be proficient on a personal computer, laptop, and mobile devices.
Maintain all fueling related equipment and structures in accordance with manufactures requirements and Clean Energy standard operating procedures.
Coverage at other stations in neighboring states may be required due to business needs and advancement criteria.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:
The A & B Automotive Technicians has the responsibility of understanding and completing perplex work necessary for the repair of a customer's vehicle. This individual will have a passion for automotive and be extremely familiar in a particular manufacturer line and have received all manufacturer certifications including but not limited to engine mechanical, engine control systems, electric, hydraulic brake systems, suspension, heating/air conditioning, instruments/gauges, drivability, intermittent issues and noises.
Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
Examine assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended
Make accurate use of the multi-point inspection form on each vehicle
Document all work performed and recommended on assigned repair order
Communicate with service advisor when additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time
Maintain technician proficiency as specified by Asbury standards
Conduct road test to determine work needed and to confirm work was successfully completed when necessary and practical
Utilize product and technical training as assigned by the manufacturer and management
Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs and schools to continuously expand your knowledge of new technology
Maintain manufacturer (CSI) Customer Satisfaction Index at or above the Asbury specified goal(s) in service for district, regional and national scores
Ability to Achieve Targeted Goals by completing the work, notations and time-keeping necessary to the successful completion of warranty repair orders and the filing of warranty claims
Report to management any situation or condition that would jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its customers or employees
Perform all levels of diagnosis and repair on automobile, and or, light truck vehicles
Participate in the training and developing of novice team members/technicians in the shop; also, Assist and help fellow technicians in the shop with vehicle diagnosis
Understand and complete required training for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
Comply with all federal, state and local laws, as well as company policy, regarding safeguarding all customer vehicles, property and information
National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification(s) in different specialized areas such as brakes, electronic systems, or engine performance preferred
Manufacturer certifications heavily preferred
Automotive Technical or Trade School Degree is preferred
Previous experience as a A or B automotive technician is required
Must be a team player with a positive and friendly attitude
Must have basic tools based on our experience
Must have great technical, communication, mechanical and basic computer skills
