Purpose & Impact: The purpose of the Teacher I is to serve as lead worker in the classroom.Performs duties planning and implementing educational activities for pre-school aged children or infants/toddlers in the Head Start/Early Heart Start Program. Essential Functions: Plans, develops and implements daily lesson plans that provide for educational and enrichment activities for pre-school age children or infants and toddlers. Plans and arranges classrooms into distinctive learning areas that promote an effective learning environment. Screens and assesses children to determine developmental/educational needs and develops and implements individual education plans. Monitors meal and snack periods, classroom and restroom activities, and playground activities to ensure a safe environment for young children. Monitors food service and supplies for adequate inventory. Documents children's progress or lack of and completes all required manual and computerized forms and reports. Initiates referrals on children to the Center Director by submission of a variety of formal documents. Plans classroom activities for parent and community volunteers. Communicates with parents through parent conferences, written correspondence, and telephone to apprise them of child's progress, upcoming events, classroom activities, individual education plan changes, and other relevant information. Conducts health checks on children for health concerns, including ringworm, head lice and other health conditions, and reports to appropriate Health Coordinator. Ensures lessons and classroom activities align with the Florida Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Standards. Conducts Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten assessments as required. Ensures that at least 80% of the children are kindergarten ready. Performs quality staff-child interactions. Uses active supervision techniques and maintains positive classroom behavior. Maintain a comprehensive and ongoing portfolio assessment for each child, including weekly observations in each area, examples of the child's work, and a developmental assessment. Uses home visits and parent conferences to discuss the child's individual development and progress, assist the parents in developing observational skills and solicit parent observations. Plans, coordinates and oversees field trips for assigned children. Orders supplies and equipment to be used by special needs children in the classroom. Assists in the transportation of special needs children by lifting child into seat and fastening safety belt. Inspects classrooms and grounds to ensure the safety, orderliness, sanitation and cleanliness of facilities. Reviews and forwards accident and incident reports. Discusses plans and coordinates concerns regarding the child and family with other Head Start/Early Head Start staff. Performs First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) as needed. Completion of State Childcare Training required including Certificate of Completion of an approved 10 hour Developmentally Appropriate Practices for Preschoolers and proof of successful completion of the 45 hours of Florida Child Care Facility Training within 12 months of hire date. In addition, all state mandated courses for the Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) required. Timeline of completion of the 45 hours is dependent on the candidate's date of entering childcare industry; must enroll within 90 days to take coursework and complete within 12 months to not exceed 15 months. Experience: Two years of experience teaching Head Start, Early Head Start, pre-school or kindergarten age children . Bilingual preferred: English/Spanish or English and other languages present in the local area. Also required: Certification in First Aid and CPR within 90 days from the date of hire and successful completion of a Level II background screening, health, TB and drug screening prior to hiring. Purpose & Impact: The purpose of the Child Welfare Case Manager, in partnership with various individuals and groups within the child welfare system and community, is to ensure and promote the social, physical, psychological and emotional well-being and safety of the children and families they serve. The Case Manager maintains case ownership responsibility as the integrator of all services and supports identified for each child, including therapy, mental health services, health and dentistry, developmental services, educational support, permanency and safety. The Case Manager manages cases toward goals recorded in case plans while adhering to Florida Statutes, Administrative Code, written policies and orders of the Dependency Court. The Case Manager reports to the Case Management Supervisor. Essential Functions: Accept all cases assigned by unit supervisor and meet with children in their primary residence within 2 working days of ITR staffing and with identified parents in sufficient time to complete a Family Assessment within 15 working days of ITR staffing. Negotiate and develop a case plan based on identified strengths and needs of the family, the circumstances bringing the family into care, recommendations provided by the Comprehensive Behavioral Health Assessment and other relevant data. The position will develop, coordinate, and deliver programming based on determined needs of the community. The position will be knowledgeable in community resources and partners that can provide programming to families with school age children in the Centers. Essential Functions: Develop and maintain knowledge of community resources to meet the needs of families. Supports Programming Manager with community and member needs assessments through surveys, interviews and other means to identify community and member needs. Assists Programming Manager with Public Relations duties to strengthen community and partner relationships. Supports the development and implementation of quality family support programming that meets a full range of family needs at all Centers. Supports the development and delivery of monthly Center Driven themed engagement events/programming that include educational and social-emotional components. Facilitates and participates in programming at each Center on a regular basis to include direct delivery of family support programming. Supports and trains Center staff in the delivery of quality family support programming. Document services, maintain records, complete reports, purchase supplies, input data into a data base system. Coordinates volunteer recruitment, applications and training needs. Assists Programming Manager with special assignments and projects. Provide back-up support for CBFRC data collection and entry to CQI Specialist as needed. Participate in community outreach, education, and special events on a monthly basis. Assists with operation of Centers to assure Centers meet or exceed all quality assurance, fiscal, legal and contract requirements. POSITION OVERVIEW The Health Service Coordinator organizes and coordinates medical services with Health Care Providers for Unaccompanied Children (UC) including specialty, dental, vision and hearing services, laboratory, imaging services, and processes Treatment Authorization Requests (TARS) and updates the Office of Refugee and Resettlement (ORR) UC Portal. This employee works closely with Health Care Providers, Dental Providers, Program Director, Assistant Program Director, Youth Care Supervisors, Case Management, and Clinical Departments. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages and monitors the delivery of Health Care services to UC including medical examinations, vaccinations, specialty visits, communicable diseases, medication management, and knowledge of health and mental health resources for children. Ensures the development and implementation of internal procedures in accordance with ORR, State, Federal and Urban Strategies Policies and Procedures. Must be sensitive to the needs of the children in the areas of health care, clinical, case management and all other department services provided.
