Kingsford Manufacturing in Springfield, OR manufactures America's best-loved charcoal briquet for the West Coast, fulfilling our mission to provide sustainable and trusted grilling products that bring people together.

In this role, you will:
The Production Worker is responsible for the processing, manufacture, packaging, storage and distribution of charcoal briquettes.
Plant department overview:
Retort - In the Retort department we convert wood waste to char that goes into the charcoal briquettes
Briquetting - In the Briquetting department we combine the char and other raw materials to create the charcoal briquette
Packaging - In the Packaging department we operate machines that package finished charcoal briquettes into bags
Warehouse - In the Warehouse we store finished bags of charcoal briquettes for shipments to customers or other warehouses
The Production Worker principally works in briquetting (process) and duties may include:
Unloading bulk raw materials from rail cars
Movement of materials across the work site
Housekeeping and organization, both in the interior and exterior plant environment
Filling in for roles such as dryer tending, bulldozer, forklift driver, quality lab, packaging & shipping

1. Machine Operation and Order Fulfillment (65%):
Prepare materials needed for order.
Ensure fulfillment of one/two areas below:
Review Order and list of materials and utilize RF Gun to locate and pick the materials.
Review order and weigh materials based on order needs - input information into machine that will prepare the batch.
Start-up machinery, review production schedule, load bags into machine and work with batcher to determine when to run the machine.
Ensure safety protocols are always followed.
2. Housekeeping (15%):
Ensure proper housekeeping and maintenance of worksite - Sweeping, vacuuming, removing packing materials/debris and equipment cleaning.
3. Staging and Shift Handoff (5%):

4. Quality Control (10%)
