Pay Range: $27-33/hour Summary/Objectives: The goal of the Machine Operator will be to increase workflow in the shop by being able to setup, operate, and troubleshoot jobs independently. The candidate will be capable of checking their own work, handle in processing inspections, and perform their own hard checks. The ability to do this independently will increase efficiency and workflow through the entire Machine Shop. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Operate and setup CNC lathes and/or Mills. Produce and maintain all part characteristics according to specifications with tolerances as low as .001". Visually inspect tools for excessive wear. Select and install tooling as required by the documentation. Inspect parts for acceptance using proper inspection procedures Maintain the machines. Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies. Assist shop production by helping co-workers. Maintain work area housekeeping and assist in department/team housekeeping efforts. Supervisory Responsibilities: No supervisory responsibilities Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school plus a minimum of 4 years of working experience in manufacturing or engineering technicians; or a minimum of 6 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to read and understand component technical manuals. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Work Environment: Work is primarily performed indoors near operating equipment and loud noise, such as forklift horns and loose particles may be present. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: As directed and trained, operate the Palletizer or Bagger machine. Operate and perform routine adjustments and changeover functions. Specific examples would be adjustments for pallet or bag configuration. Operate printer, layouts and computer settings. Perform and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Perform product stack configurations. Maintain accurate, complete and legible paperwork. Conduct changeovers. Keep supplies available to both bagger and palletizer at all times. Supply bagging with needed packaging (bags), following FIFO rotation. Troubleshoot minor operating problems. Remove full pallets from palletizer and store them properly in the warehouse, damage free. Repair any damaged pallets or bags before shift is over. Communicate production status to oncoming shift personnel. Maintain communication with maintenance personnel on major machine issues. Keep workstation and surrounding area in a clean and safe manner at all times. Working overtime is MANDATORY and requires full participation. Maintain Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) in accordance with company policy. Perform all functions in accordance with sound safety practices and procedures. Report all safety violations and safety hazards to Shift Supervisor immediately. Participate in all safety programs. 12hr Shifts & Weekends Passed experience operating a propane sit-down forklift is a plus Must successfully pass a pre-employment background and drug screening.
