    Title: Manufacturing Operator ($22.26/hr) Classification: Full time/Non-exempt Reports to: Production Manager Job Summary: The manufacturing Operator will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment. Ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of production processes, safety protocols, and quality control measures. We are seeking candidates who are reliable, detail-oriented, and capable or working independently or a part of a team. Candidates must be available to workday and/or evening shifts as needed. Zoltek does not hire individuals who require sponsorship for employment eligibility in the U.S. Work Schedule: The Manufacturing Operator will work 12.25-hour shifts. The night shift schedule is 7:45 PM to 8:00 AM (7.5%-night differential included in pay), day shift schedule is 7:45 AM to 8:00 PM. The work week is an alternating 36.25 or 49 hours (12-hour shifts rotating on a 2-week cycle: 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off) resulting in a 3-day weekend every other week and some built in overtime. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines. Operate and monitor various types of Carbon Fiber manufacturing equipment to ensure efficient production process. Inspect size/quality of processed material; ensuring customer's specifications are met. Remove and package samples for Quality Control. Remove boxes up to 50 pounds from processing line, attach labels and complete necessary paperwork for inventory control. Inspect product for quality and adherence to specifications, throughout the process. Accurately record production data and report any deviations or issues. Maintain equipment and work area the areas are to remain clean and free of hazardous obstacles. Follow all safety and environmental policies and procedures, along with proper PPE requirements. Continuously monitor machine performance to ensure it is running efficiently and make the necessary adjustments. Operate equipment and perform all tasks in accordance with Safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment. Accurately complete all documents. Perform additional duties as required to support production goals or address operational needs. Qualifications: Graduation from high school or a GED is required Experience of 1 year or more in manufacturing or a factory environment is strongly desired Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations, read and interpret documents, follow procedures, document information, communicate effectively with shift lead and co-workers Ability to troubleshoot and take effective corrective action to resolve problems Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate machinery and assemble product Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job: Lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs. from scale and properly close and seal for shipment. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Job involves lifting, turning, bending, reaching, pulling, walking and standing for extended periods of time. Operate and monitor the machine and its parts to ensure efficiency and quality, and support experts during troubleshooting when needed. Manage color changes, adjust and set blow pins, clean the mixer, perform basic daily repairs, and carry out weekly and monthly maintenance on the machine and its ancillaries. Know the process parameters of the machine, can set them, and can set up and change recipes. Ensure proper handling of both raw material and post-production materials Act as Shift Supervisor deputy if needed. Fill out production documents, quality control sheets, and record data. Perform product checks using measuring tools, follows the control plan, and records the results on the correct forms. Support technical staff in solving minor issues that affect product quality and production, focusing on how specific parameters impact the final result. What are we looking for? Good knowledge of plastic molding technologies (EBM and/or SBM and/or IM). Good applied knowledge of measuring instruments and techniques. Ability to operate manual and electric forklifts. Basic applied knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical and/or electronic systems. Basic applied knowledge of WCM standards.
