Shift 1: 6:00am - 2:30pm Compensation: $22.00/hour to $24.00/hour (depending on experience) Responsibilities * Operate and monitor assigned machinery and equipment according to established procedures and safety standards. * Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure optimal performance. * Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, or production schedules to determine job instructions. * Inspect parts and finished products for quality and accuracy using measuring tools. * Record production data, including output, downtime, and defects. * Adjust machine settings as necessary to maintain product specifications and minimize waste. * Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals. * Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to maintenance or supervisory staff. * Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and quality control standards. Skills / Qualifications * High school diploma or GED is a plus; vocational or technical training preferred. * Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus. * Experience operating or working with mills (manual or CNC) or other metalworking machinery is highly desirable. * Familiarity with machining processes such as cutting, drilling, or grinding. * Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues. * Basic math and measurement skills. * Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, or schematics. * Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. * Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts as needed. General Summary: Performs all types of precision EDM (Electrical Discharge Machine) work in steel and carbide to exacting tolerances. Studies part prints and decides on correct procedures to obtain dimensions and forms of finished products. Sets up parts on machines with proper power settings and depths. Checks final forms by taking molds or using other gauges to verify tolerances and finishes. Machinist will be held to established quality standards. Incumbent will have control to make minor adjustments to the process or machine after tasks are assigned. Specific Responsibilities: Program, set up and operate EDM. Prepares necessary information for construction of electrodes to achieve desired results. Makes some electrodes of relatively simple geometry. Put the electrodes on the bars and in the machine. Loads and edits programs on machines. Receives assistance from EDM Programmer if programming is required Reads blueprints and has knowledge to use micrometers, calipers, comparators, thread gauges, depth micrometers and dial indicators as needed. Makes recommendations for alternate method to fabricate tools and parts. Performs other tasks as required Essential Knowledge & Skills Certified in Lock Out/Tag Out Ability to read and interpret blueprints Must have good communication skills and know basic shop math Must be able to read, write and understand English Must be able to lift/move up to 30 lbs.
