About This Role:
As a key member of the manufacturing team, this role is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment in the production of insulation. Reporting directly to the Shift Supervisor, you will play a critical role in maintaining smooth operations by communicating regularly about packaging supply needs, equipment issues, and maintenance requirements. Your proactive approach to safety, quality, and operational excellence will help drive continuous improvement efforts across the plant.
Responsibilities
Operational Communication:
Regularly communicate with the Shift Supervisor, especially when packaging supplies need replenishing.
Collaborate with the Shift Supervisor, Cold End Coordinator, and Maintenance teams to address equipment issues and ensure preventative maintenance or repairs are performed promptly.

Organization and Position Overview
Lilly recently announced a $4.5 billion investment to create the Lilly Medicine Foundry, a new center for advanced manufacturing and drug development. The first-ever facility of its kind, combining research and manufacturing in a single location, the Medicine Foundry will allow Lilly to further develop innovative solutions to optimize manufacturing processes and increase capacity for clinical trial medicines, while also reducing costs and environmental impact.

Job Position Overview:
The Lilly Medicine Foundry Manufacturing Operator actively supports start-up activities to bring manufacturing equipment into service. The Operator becomes an expert in their assigned area, Small Molecule, Hybrid, or Biologics, and educates the team on the proper operation of the facility. This role requires domestic and international travel to collaborate, train, and learn from sites that currently produce APIs.
Upon completion of the project phase, the Operator directly oversees the production of API molecules. The Operator ensures a safety-first, quality-always approach while managing a production process that encompasses diverse unit operations and manufacturing skills.
Responsibilities:
This role ensures the supply of our medicines by supporting the team, following instructions, assisting with troubleshooting, collaborating cross-functionally, and upholding our safety-first, quality-always mindset. Operators will support daily activities to meet production plans by:
* Adhering to compliance requirements (safety, quality, and environmental) and appropriately communicating/troubleshooting any adverse events.

Position Brand Description:
Receiving, storage, and shipping of raw materials and packaging components in support of Lilly manufacturing sites (Both US and OUS customers). Ensure materials are available and on hand for weekly production operations and ensure inventory quantities are accurate. Requirement to handle and process materials in inventory system always following GMP processes. The position reports to a Leader. The minimum length of time in this position is 3 years per current guidelines.
Key Objectives / Deliverables:
• Accurate receiving and storage of manufacturing components from outside vendors. Shipping of orders to internal and external Lilly customers.
• Unloading / loading of materials at docks, receiving of materials, storage of material in appropriate storage zones, preparation and shipping of customer orders, order processing in warehouse inventory system, cycle counting.
• Follow all safety requirements and procedures. Routinely inspect area for health and safety issues. Assist with implementation of countermeasures from safety incident investigations. Work with Leader and safety representatives to implement safety projects.
• Follow all GMP, and other regulatory requirements. Participate in quality initiatives and audits. Compliance to FDA, EMEA, DEA, OSHA, IDEM, and EPA regulations.
• Meet appropriate goals for performance improvement as defined by area Leadership.
• Execute inventory transactions in a timely fashion.
• Ensure inventory levels for local warehouse are set and maintained appropriately.
• Provide key customers raw materials and components on-time and in full.
• Maintain learning plan at 100% current.
• Follow and execute policies and procedures impacting warehouse activities.
Minimum Requirements:
• Certified to operate all types of powered industrial trucks.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Solid understanding of quality and corporate policies.
• Solid understanding of the importance of and basic requirements of regulatory agencies such as the FDA, EMEA, OSHA and EPA.
• Demonstrated solid judgment and initiative.
• Enthusiastic, positive attitude, flexible and willing to work overtime.
